South Easton, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference has named Gregory Pellegrino as the Media Relations Assistant. Pellegrino, a graduate of Division II Mansfield University, will assume duties immediately. The announcement was made today by Northeast-10 Commissioner David Brunk.
“I am extremely eager to have Gregory join our staff here at the Northeast-10,” Brunk said. “His past experience in Division II athletics and the knowledge he has gained as a member of two highly respected sports information departments have given him the tools he’ll need to succeed at the league office.”
A 2004 graduate of Mansfield, Pellegrino received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Journalism and Public Relations. After graduation, he fine-tuned his knowledge of sports information at Skidmore College, a member of Division III. During his two years of service at Skidmore, he was responsible for press releases, game programs, statistics and website management.
As an undergrad at Mansfield, Pellegrino learned the fundamentals of college athletic media relations through his involvement with game day management duties such as preparation of game notes and disseminating statistics and releases to local media outlets. Pellegrino, who is originally from Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, also served as the sports editor for The Flashlight, a Mansfield student newspaper while in college.
His duties at the Northeast-10 include compiling and distributing weekly conference statistical reports and student-athlete honors program for all Northeast-10 championship sports. In addition, Pellegrino will assist in the maintenance of conference championship records, write and produce conference press releases, championship programs, post nightly updates to the league website and other duties as assigned.
