Michael Hill ’97 – Baseball - Bentley
One of premier sluggers in Northeast-10 history, Hill was the
Northeast-10 Player of the Year in 1996 and 1997 and was a Division
II All-America in 1996 (first team OF) and 1997 (third team
3B).
One of just four Falcons to be drafted and the only All-America in
the program’s history, Hill is considered by many to be the
best player to ever wear a Bentley baseball uniform. A standout
from 1994 to 1997, Hill is Bentley’s all-time leader in home
runs (43), total bases (387), runs batted in (191) and slugging
percentage (.763), and his .379 career batting average ranks second
in school history.
It was his junior season he put up numbers that were previously
unseen at Bentley. He hit a career high .417 and reached base half
the time he stepped to the plate.
Hired as a network technician at Bentley, Hill took classes part
time and graduated from Bentley in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Management. He has since moved on to become a sales
broker for Eagles Fruit Traders in Wilmington.
Hill joined the baseball staff as an assistant coach in 2002 and
has also served as the Director of Intramurals for the past two
years.
