Carolyn McGowan – Softball - American International
McGowan is the only four-time All-American at any sport at
American International, garnering All-America honors in each of her
four seasons (1996-99) on the softball team.
McGowan holds numerous school records on the diamond, including
career home runs (44) and runs batted in (186).
She was also a four-time First Team All-Northeast-10 selection and
was the league’s Rookie of the Year in 1996.
Over her four-year career the Yellow Jackets posted a record of
139-59 (.702) and made four NCAA Tournament appearances, including
back-to-back Northeast Region championships and trips to the
Division II World Series in 1996 and 1997.
She would go on to play semi-professionally following her brilliant
career with the world-renowned Brakettes in 1999.
