Jacob VanRyn enters his third year at the Northeast-10 Conference in 2012. He works to provide strategic planning for the Conference's sports information and communication departments and bring 16 institutions together to support the Conference's overall mission and strategy and the NCAA's DII Strategic Platform.
He is responsible for overseeing all sports communications and media relations responsibilities for the Conference's 23 sports, which includes day-to-day and weekly media relations responsibilities.
VanRyn serves as the chief administrator for new media, social media, and technology while overseeing the promotion and development of the Northeast-10 Conference brand.
VanRyn is a graduate of Colgate University (B.A. in Sociology/Education) and Boston University (M.S. in Broadcast Journalism). He was the Media Relations Director for the Albany minor league baseball team for five years, before moving on to The College of Saint Rose where he spent seven years in facilities, events, and marketing. He most recently was in marketing and client services for a thoroughbred racing company where he was responsible for, among other things, the management and production of content for the company's website and their marketing and branding strategies.
