Michael Ghika is currently in his second year with the Northeast-10 Conference. In July 2012, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Strategic Communications after serving in an intern role for the 2011-12 academic year. His promotion brought the conference's full-time staff to five, the largest in the conference's history.
Ghika works primarily with athletics communications and media relations duties, handling Northeast-10 weekly reports and webite maintenance, while also taking part in the hosting and coordination of the conference's 23 championship events.
He has also helped launch the conference's student-athlete blog effort, in which students are able to share their thoughts and insight on the life of a Division II student-athlete.
Ghika is a 2011 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University,
where he received a B.S. in Sport Management and a minor in
Communications. He worked as an assistant in the athletics
communications office for four years at SNHU, assisting with all 16
of the Penmen's NCAA Division II varsity programs.
The Saugus, Mass. native also served as Director of Media
Relations for the North Shore Navigators, which at the time was a
member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), for a
three-year period. His stint included the hosting and media
coordination of the 2011 NECBL All-Star Game at Fraser Field in
Lynn, Mass.
