Stonehill’s Sullivan Named Interim
Commissioner of Northeast-10

South Easton, Mass. – Dr. George J. Hagerty, Chair of the Northeast-10 Council of Presidents and the Northeast-10 Conference announced today the appointment of Paula Sullivan as the Interim Commissioner of the Northeast-10 Conference effective August 1.

“Paula Sullivan is the ideal choice to serve as the Interim Commissioner,” said Hagerty. “Her extraordinary background and success in coaching and athletic administration will well serve the Conference during an important moment of transition. I join my colleague Presidents in congratulating Paula on this appointment and am certain of her ability to provide the leadership needed at this time.”

Sullivan replaces David Brunk who resigned to become Commissioner of the Peach Belt Conference in Augusta, Ga. Brunk served as the Northeast-10 Commissioner for the past nine years.

“I am thrilled that Paula has agreed to be the Interim Commissioner,” said Brunk. “She has the utmost respect throughout the Conference and Division II and as an administrator her skills are second to none as evidenced by the outstanding leadership she provides to her successful athletic program at Stonehill College.”

Sullivan, currently the Director of Athletics at Stonehill College, will continue her role at Stonehill while serving as Interim Commissioner at the Northeast-10 until a full-time Commissioner is hired.

A 2006 Northeast-10 Hall of Fame inductee, Sullivan is a charter member of the Stonehill Athletics Hall of Fame and New England Basketball Hall of Fame, is a member of the New Agenda/Northeast Women’s Hall of Fame and she has served on and chaired several committees, including the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee and Chair of the Northeast-10 Executive Committee.

Sponsoring 23 championship sports and 15 full-time members, the Northeast-10 is the second largest NCAA Division II athletic conference in the nation and sponsors the most championships of any Division II conference.
