Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Elliott Shea, Franklin Pierce (Sr., OF, Jaffrey, NH) - In a four-game series sweep of Post University, hit .625 (10-16) with nine runs scored, two doubles, two triples, two home runs, six RBI and a stolen base. Slugged 1.375 and posted a .625 on-base percentage. Also notched one outfield assist. Went 2-for-4 (RBI, R) in game one, 3-for-5 (3 R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI) in game two, 2-for-4 (2 R, 3B, SB, RBI) in game three and 3-for-3 (2B, 3B, HR, 3 R, RBI) in the series finale.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Josh Moore, Saint Anselm (So., SP, Worcester, MA) - Hurled a complete-game, one-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over C.W. Post. Threw 79 pitches, struck out five batters and walked none to pick up his first win of the season.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Scott Savastano, Franklin Pierce (Fr., 3B, Plymouth, MA) - In a four-game series sweep of Post University hit .455 (5-11) with six runs scored, two doubles, a triple and three RBI. Also slugged .818 and posted a .571 on-base percentage and was error free in 11 chances at third base. Went 2-for-4 (2B, 3 R, 3 RRI) in game one, 2-for-3 (2B, 3B, 2 R) in game two and 1-for-2 (BB, R) in game four.

Mike Chambers, Franklin Pierce (Sr., 2B, Londonderry, NH) - In a four-game series sweep of Post University over the weekend hit .583 (7-12) with six runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, two stolen bases and seven RBI. Slugged 1.250 and posted a .600 on-base percentage for the weekend. Went 3-for-4 (2B, SB, RBI, 3 R) in game one, 2-for-3 (2B, HR, R, 2 RBI) in game two and 2-for-3 (HR, R, 3 RBI) in the series finale.
Tyler Cummings, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, South Paris, ME) - Allowed just two hits in five scoreless innings of work, struck out three and walked none in a 7-0 game three victory over Post University.
Bryan Duplissie, Franklin Pierce (Sr., 1B, East Swanzey, NH) - In a four-game weekend series sweep of Post University hit .357 (5-14) with six runs scored, two home runs, two stolen bases and six RBI. Also collected a win on the mound in Sunday's series finale with four innings of two-hit shutout work, walking none and striking out five. Was 2-for-4 (2 SB, HR, 3 R, 4 RBI) in game one, 2-for-4 (2 R) in game three and 1-for-2 (HR, 2 RBI) in game four.
Vinny Pennell, Franklin Pierce(Jr., OF, Spencer, MA) In a four-game series sweep of Post University hit .583 (7-12) with six runs scored, a triple, two home runs, a stolen base and team-best eight RBI. Slugged 1.250 and posted a .615 on-base percentage for the week. Was 2-for-4 (3B, 2 R, 2 RBI) in game one, 2-for-3 (HR, 3 RBI) in game two, 1-for-2 (SB, R, RBI) and rounded out the series going 2-for-3 (HR, 2 R, 2 RBI).
Matt Arburr, Pace (So., 3B, Bristol, CT) - In a three games series against Bloomfield, was 4-for-10 with five RBI and five runs scored. In the first game, went 3-for-5 (2 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R) and in the third game, was 1-for-3 (2 RBI, 2 R, HR).
Matt Castellano, Pace (Jr., 1B, Staten Island, NY) - Went 5-for-8 with one homerun, three RBI and four runs scored in three games against Bloomfield. In the first game, went 3-for-4 with a double, homerun, three RBI and two runs scored.
Bryan Hallberg, Pace (Jr., SP, River Edge, NJ) - Allowed one hit over six innings while holding Bloomfield scoreless and striking out seven. Retired the final 13 batters he faced before being relieved after the 6th inning.
Jerod Edmondson, Saint Anselm (Jr., 1B, Johnson City, NY) - Hit .800 (8-10) with a run scored, a triple, two doubles and four runs batted in three games. Went 4-for-4 (3B, 2B, 2 RBI) in a 7-6 loss to Saginaw Valley State, 2-for-3 (R) in game one with C.W. Post and 2-for-3 game (2B, 2 RBI) in game two.
Sean Lawrence, Stonehill (Sr., 1B, New Rochelle, NY) - Batted .417 (5-12) with in 2-3 week at Gene Cusic Classic, including three hits and three runs scored in a 10-2 win over C.W. Post.
Billy Sittig, Stonehill (Sr., SP, West Roxbury, MA) - Allowed five hits and two runs while fanning five in a 10-2 victory over C.W. Post at Gene Cusic Classic.
Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:
FRANKLIN PIERCE: Franklin Pierce was ranked #12 in last week's Collegiate Baseball magazine Division II poll, its highest regular season ranking in program history, and is off to a 6-1 start for the first time in program history. The Ravens made New Hampshire history over the weekend as it hosted Post University for a four-game weekend series at Dr. Pappas Field. It is believed to be the earliest baseball has been played in the State of New Hampshire and is confirmed as the earliest college baseball games. The Ravens bats heated up the 30-degree weather over the weekend, outscoring Post a combined 52-2. Franklin Pierce registered 52 hits, including 26 for extra bases. The Ravens belted 12 doubles, ten home runs (including five in the fourth game) and four triples for the weekend. Four Ravens hit .500 or better and six hit over .400. Franklin Pierce's pitching staff helped the cause by silencing the Post offense all weekend, posting three shutouts (0.64 ERA) and limiting the Eagles to just 16 hits, including just one extra base hit, and struck out 27 over the four games. The Ravens four starting pitchers did not yield a run in 19 innings of work, scattering ten hits with 19 strikeouts. The Ravens also committed just one error in the field all weekend (.992 team fielding percentage). Junior Vinny Pennell (Spencer, Mass.) belted two home runs over the weekend, just his second and third of his career and first since his freshman year in the ECAC Tournament. Frankin Pierce has scored in its first at bat in six of its seven games this season (5-1 record) and 12-of-14 dating back to last year. The Ravens have outscored its first two opponents by a combined 55-11 over the first four innings this season, including 30-3 in the first two frames.
