Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Mike Chambers, Franklin Pierce (Sr., 2B, Londonderry, NH) - In a 4-0 week, hit a team-best .500 (6-12) with two runs scored, two doubles, a triple, two stolen bases and two RBI. Slugged .833 and posted a .600 on-base percentage while playing error-free in 21 chances at second base. Was 2-for-4 (2 2B, R) in a win over Bryant. Was a combined 3-for-5 (3B, RBI, R) in a doubleheader sweep of Saint Rose. His RBI triple in game two capped a 2-2 outing and gave the Ravens the lead for good.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Brett Cooley, American International (Jr., SP, Somers, CT) ? Pitched all 11 innings to pick up the victory in a 1-0 win over Assumption. Struck out eight, did not allow a walk and surrendered just four hits. Did not allow a base runner until the sixth inning.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Jim Fuller, Southern New Hampshire (Fr., SP, Marlboro, MA) ? Struck out 14 batters (school record) during a complete-game win over American International. Allowed just five hits and no earned runs, and issued just one walk. Retired 14-straight batters at one point.
Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:
Mike Gibbon, Assumption (Fr., SP, Gloucester, MA) - Pitched a complete game win over American International, allowing five hits, no earned runs, six strike outs, and no walks. Opposing batters hit just .147 from the plate.
Joe Herzog, Bentley (So., SP, Cheshire, MA) - Pitched a four-hit shutout at Merrimack, in a 7-0 victory. Struck out three, walked only one and did not allow a runner past second base.
GJ Vicente, Bentley (Sr., DH, Salem, NH) - In a 4-0-1 week, hit an even .500 (9-18) with five runs scored, two RBI, a double and a stolen base. Included were a pair of three-hit games (Brandeis and Merrimack).
Shane Presutti, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SP, Southbridge, MA) - Scattered three hits with ten strikeouts and no walks while yielding only an unearned run over 8.2 innings of work in a 2-1 comeback win over Saint Rose in game one of doubleheader sweep.
Tim Manton, UMass Lowell (So., OF, Swansea, MA) - Batted .435 (10-23) with four runs, two RBI and two stolen bases. In 8-1 and 8-2 losses at Southern Connecticut, went 3-for-9 (R) . In a three-game sweep over Southern New Hampshire, went 7-for-14 (3 R, 2 RBI). Highlighted the series with a 4-for-6 effort (2 RBI, R) in s 12-0 win and a 2-for-4 clip (R) in a 2-1 victory.
Sean Patno, UMass Lowell (Jr., SS, Chelmsford, MA) - Batted .409 (9-22) with three runs. Highlights include a 3-for-6 effort (R) in a 12-0 win at Southern New Hampshire. Also went 2-for-4 (R) in a 8-2 loss at Southern Connecticut and 2-for-4 (R) in a 5-1 win.
Brian DeMasse, Merrimack (Jr., SP, Reading, MA) - Tossed a four-hit, complete game shutout at Stonehill. Walked one and struck out six in a 1-0 win.
Michael Diaz, Southern Connecticut (Fr., SS, Monroe, CT) - Leadoff man batted .412 (7-17) with two doubles and a home run in a 3-1 week. Scored five runs and drove in three, while slugging .706. Stole two bases and added two sacrifice bunts. Hit a three-run home run in an 8-2 win over No. 19 UMass Lowell.
Matt Hennessey, Southern Connecticut (Sr., SP, Wallingford, CT) - Earned a complete-game 8-1 victory over No. 19 UMass Lowell without allowing an earned run. Yielded six hits, all singles, struck out five, and walked two.
Jose Ortiz, Southern Connecticut (Jr., 3B, Waterbury, CT) - Hit a team-best .421 (8-19) with three runs scored, three RBI and a double in a 3-1 week, against nationally-ranked UMass Lowell and regionally-ranked Pace. Handled 18 errorless chances (including 12 assists) at third base.
Joe Vingo, Southern Connecticut (Sr., SP, Harrison, NY) - In his only action of the week, tossed a three-hit shutout in a 6-0 victory over regionally-ranked Pace. Threw 97 pitches, 63 for strikes, in nine innings. Struck out five and walked one. Did not allow a runner to reach third base.
Tom Aldrich, Stonehill (Jr., 2B, New Canaan, CT) - Batted .444 (4-9) and drove in pair a of runs in a 2-1 week, collecting both RBI in a 10-0 non-league triumph at Saint Rose.
Brian Nelson, Stonehill (Sr., SP, Greenville, RI) - Tossed a complete-game four-hitter and struck out six in a 3-0 league triumph at Saint Rose.

UMASS LOWELL: UMass Lowell junior 1B Patrick Wilson increased his hitting streak to 21 games Sunday as he doubled in the eighth inning of UML's 5-1 win over Southern New Hampshire. The streak is UML's longest since the 2002 season. In his last three starts, junior Kevin Graham has surrendered just nine hits, four earned runs and seven walks while striking out 22 batters. He has also maintained a 1.61 ERA over 22.1 innings and posted a 3-0 clip in that span. Sophomore CF Tim Manton is currently nursing a nine-game hitting streak, highlighted by this weekend's 7-for-14 effort in three wins over Southern New Hampshire?SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: Southern Connecticut began the season 9-0 at home before losing Game 2 to Pace, 8-2, on Sunday. Junior C Jim McLaughlin is hitting a team-best .387 with wooden bats and .256 with metal bats. Nearly one-third of Southern's schedule (9 of 28) has been played against nationally-ranked teams. Senior LHP Jeff Farrell has not walked a batter in his last 20 IP. the Owls pitched to a 1.50 ERA last week in four games against UMass Lowell, ranked first regionally and 19th nationally, and Pace, ranked fourth regionally. In that stretch, the staff walked four batters in 36 innings with a 1.00 WHIP. Southern picked up two extra home games last week when road games against UML and Pace were rained out and made up at home. No make-up date has been announced for the third game of the Pace series. Junior 1B Nick Czekaj is hitting .478 with two outs, 121 points above his overall season average?STONEHILL: Senior P Billy Sittig (West Roxbury, Mass.) became Stonehill's career strikeout leader by fanning six in Thursday's setback to Merrimack, as he passed former Skyhawk standout Mark Henry's mark of 237 strikeouts and now stands at 243. Senior P Brian Nelson (Greenville, R.I.) has tossed 17 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings after a complete-game four hit shutout at Saint Rose on Sunday. Seven Skyhawk hurlers combined to allow just 18 hits and one unearned run while striking out 22 in 27 innings of work last week, holding opponents to a .196 batting average?FRANKLIN PIERCE: Franklin Pierce, ranked #21 in last week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll and #25 in Collegiate Baseball magazine's poll, matched the program single-season triples mark with their 16th in game two of Saturday's doubleheader with Saint Rose. Senior Elliott Shea (Jaffrey, N.H.) became the Ravens all-time stolen base leader with his 58th career steal in Thursday's win over Bryant. Shea surpassed former Raven All-American Eric Cavers, who stole 57 bases from 2002-04. Shea also became the third member of the Ravens 200-hit club. Senior Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.) enters this week just five hits shy of becoming the 200-hit club's fourth member. Junior Daniel Fournier (Worcester, Mass.) followed up last week's no-hitter with 4.2 perfect innings at Bryant on Tuesday at Bryant before yielding a two-out single, ending 13.2 consecutive innings without allowing a hit. Opposing batters are hitting .108 against Fournier this season, including .040 in Conference play. Sophomore reliever Tyler Bishop (Milford, N.H.) earned wins in two of the Ravens victories in a 4-0 week?SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Penmen equaled the program-record for shutouts in a season (6) following their 1-0 win over Assumption Wednesday. Freshman Jim Fuller (Marlboro, MA) established a new program-record for strikeouts in a game (14) during SNHU's 4-1 win over American International Thursday. The old record of 13 was set just two seasons ago by Jason Paul. Junior Rob Hennessy (Westford, MA) has pitched 14 scoreless innings over his last two starts?BENTLEY: Bentley senior RF Bill Dacier (Medway, Mass.) saw his hitting streak ended at 13 on Sunday, but junior 1B Tom Haugh (Andover, Mass.) will enter this week's action with a 10-game hitting streak. Bentley's tie game against Brandeis Friday was its first since the 1991 season?AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: AIC has already matched last season's win total. With its back-to-back shutouts of Assumption Saturday, the Yellow Jackets have posted four shutouts this season, the most since blanking opponents five times during the 1992 season. It also marked the first back-to-back shutouts by American International since shutting out Merrimack back-to-back in 1992. Junior Brett Cooley's (Somers, Conn.) 11-inning performance in Saturday's first game marked the second appearance of over nine innings for an AIC pitcher this season. Merrimack committed seven errors in Sunday's doubleheader loss to Bentley - four in game one and three in game two?ASSUMPTION: Assumption christened its newly renovated H.L. Rocheleau Field last Sunday with a 7-2 win over American International. Freshman shortstop Mike Baillargeon (Worcester, MA/Holy Name) recorded the first hit on the new field, a double to left center. The Hounds will play Saint Rose on Monday in a make-up game from last Tuesday?
