Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Mike Chambers, Franklin Pierce (Sr., 2B, Londonderry, NH) - Named to the All-Tournament team at the 2006 NCAA Division II Baseball Championships in Montgomery, Ala. Hit .375 (6-for-16) with three runs scored, two doubles and three RBI. Was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in elimination game victory over Emporia State. Was 2-for-5 with a run scored in elimination game victory over Ashland.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Tyler Cummings, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, South Paris, ME) - Earned All-Tournament Team honors at the 2006 NCAA Division II Baseball Championships in Montgomery, Ala. Tossed a career-best ten shutout innings en route of an elimination game victory over #2 Emporia State. Scattered six hits, while striking out five and walking just one in the outing to pick up his tenth win of the season (10-1). The ten wins matches the program's single-season record.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Scott Savastano, Franklin Pierce (Fr., 3B, Plymouth, MA) - Earned All-Tournament team honors at the 2006 NCAA Division II Baseball Championships in Montgomery, Ala., as he hit a team-best .438 (7-for-16) with three runs scored, two doubles and an RBI. Also stole a base and was error-free on 17 chances at third base. Was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored in game one against Ashland. Batted 1-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored in elimination game win over Ashland. Hit 3-for-4 with a double and RBI against eventual National Champions Tampa.

FRANKLIN PIERCE: Franklin Pierce participated in its second NCAA Division II Baseball Championships in program history last week and reached the semifinal round for the second time in four years. The Ravens were eliminated by top-ranked and eventual champion University of Tampa for the second time in as many World Series trips. Senior Tyler Cummings (South Paris, Maine) tossed a career-high ten shutout innings in earning his program-record matching tenth win of the year in an elimination game victory over #2 Emporia State. Cummings matches the record set by Jon White, who won ten games in 2002. No less than six Franklin Pierce players will be following Major League Baseball's First Year Player Draft Tuesday and Wednesday. Junior All-American Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine) is expected to go in the third to sixth round, while juniors Shane Presutti (Southbridge, Mass.) and Daniel Fournier (Worcester, Mass.), along with seniors Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.), Elliot Shea (Jaffrey, N.H.), Bryan Duplissie (East Swanzey, N.H.) and Cummings are also draft hopefuls.
