Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Bob Theriault, UMass Lowell (Sr., DH, Lowell, MA) - Batted .450 (9-20) with 12 RBI, six runs, three home runs and two doubles in six games. Went 1-for-3 (RBI) in an 8-7 win at Saint Leo. Had a 4-for-4 effort with a three-run home run in a 16-5 loss at No. 4 Tampa and a 1-for-3 effort (2 RBI, 2B) in a 16-3 loss at No. 27 Florida Southern. Went 2-for-5 with a two-run shot in an 11-6 win at Eckerd. Went 1-for-3 (2 R), including a three-run shot in an 11-5 win over Caldwell.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Toby Nylin, Southern Connecticut (So., SP, Pleasant Valley, CT) - Pitched a complete game win over Merrimack, allowing just one earned run. Yielded eight hits, all singles, in the 8-3 victory with no bases on balls and nine strikeouts.
Northeast-10 Co-Freshman of the Week
Scott Savastano, Franklin Pierce (Fr., 3B, Plymouth, MA) - Hit a team-best .600 (9-15) with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple, three stolen bases and five RBI in a 4-0 weekend. Was 3-for-5 (SB) in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Molloy and went 3-for-3 (3 R, 2B, 3 RBI) in game two. Hit 1-for-3 (2B, RBI, SB, R) in game one of DH sweep of Caldwell and went 2-for-4 (3B, RBI, R) in the nightcap.
Kevin Bowerman, Southern Connecticut (Fr., 2B, West Haven, CT) - In a 5-0 week, batted .563 (9-16), with a double, triple, five runs batted in and a .750 slugging percentage. Also, stole two bases in two attempts and was errorless in 24 chances as the Owls topped Merrimack in a single game while sweeping Bridgeport and New Haven in doubleheaders.
Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:
Tyler Vivian, Assumption (Sr., DH, Ashland, MA) - Went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and two RBI against Holy Cross.
Steve Gath, Bentley (Jr., SS, Reading, MA) - In a 1-3 week, hit .444 with his eight hits including three doubles. Slugged .611, scored two runs and drove in one. Also handled 19 chances in the field without an error. Hit safely in all four games and finished the Florida trip with consecutive three-hit games (vs. Rollins and Merrimack).
Daryle Crowley, Bryant (Sr., OF, Danvers, MA) ? Batted .391 (9-23), had with five runs, three RBI, two triples and a homerun in six games last week. Went 3-for-4 (3 R) against Shippensburg.
Arric Mather, Franklin Pierce (Jr., RP, Danville, NH) - Picked up two wins out of the bullpen in a 4-0 weekend. Allowed just one earned run on seven hits with six strikeouts over a combined 7.1 innings of work (1.23 ERA). Pitched a perfect tenth inning with a strikeout in a 4-3 extra inning win over Molloy. Entered Sunday's 9-4 win over Caldwell with the Ravens trailing 3-2 and held the Cougars to just an earned run on seven hits with five strikeouts and no walk over the next 6.1 innings to pick up his second win in as many days.
Tyler Cummings, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, South Paris, ME) - Tossed a five-hit shutout and picked up a win in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Caldwell. Struck out four and walked one over seven innings
Garrett Olson, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SS, Norway, ME) - Hit a combined .444 (8-18) with seven runs scored, two doubles, two triples, an RBI and three RBI in a 4-0 week. Was 3-for-5 (2 3B, 3 R, SB) in game two of DH sweep of Caldwell. Hit 2-for-5 (RBI, 2B, SB, 2 R) scored in game one.
Elliott Shea, Franklin Pierce (Sr., OF, Jaffrey, NH) ? In a 4-0 week hit a combined .500 (7-14) with six runs scored, seven stolen bases (on as many attempts), a triple and three RBI. Stole three bases and was 2-for-4 (R) in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Molloy. Was 2-for-4 (RBI, R, 2 SB) in the night cap. Hit 1-for-2 (2 R, RBI, SB) in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Caldwell. Finished the weekend going 2-for-4 (2 R, 3B, RBI, SB) in game two versus Caldwell.
Brendan Fullerton, UMass Lowell (Fr., 3B, Beverly, MA) - Batted .333 (9-27) seven runs, five RBI, three doubles and three walks. Went 3-for-5 (2 2B, RBI, R) in an 8-7 win over Saint Leo. Followed with a 2-for-5 effort (RBI) in a 16-5 loss at No. 4 Tampa, and a 1-for-5 showing (R) in a 16-3 loss at Florida Southern. Closed the week with a 1-for-3 effort (2 R, RBI) in an 11-5 win over Caldwell and a 2-for-4 showing (2 R, 2 RBI, 2B) in the 9-2 nightcap win over the Cougars.
Wayne MacKay, Saint Anselm (Jr., 2B, Melrose, MA) - Batted .444 with two runs and an RBI in three games. Went 2-for-3 (R) in the first game of a doubleheader with Mansfield.
Jose Ortiz, Jr., Southern Connecticut (Jr., 2B, Waterbury, CT) - Batted .500 (9-18) and stole three bases in a 5-0 week. Had three doubles and six runs batted in as Southern won a single game with Merrimack and swept twinbills with Bridgeport and New Haven.
Joe Pagan, Southern Connecticut (Sr., DH, Bridgeport, CT) - In a 5-0 week, batted .381 (8-21) with three doubles, a homer and 12 runs batted in. Had two hits in four of the five games and an RBI in each game. drove in seven runs in a doubleheader sweep of Bridgeport.
Jessie Goodrich, Southern New Hampshire (So., OF, Canton, MA) - Batted .500 (6-12) with three RBI and three runs scored in a 3-1 week. Went a combined 4-for-5 (3 RBI) in a doubleheader split with Hillsdale.
Greg Lyons, Southern New Hampshire (Fr., SP, Canton, MA) - Posted a complete-game (7 inn.) shutout in a 4-0 win over Hillsdale. Scattered five hits, fanned seven and walked just two to earn his first career win.
Casey O'Brien, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., SP, Newmarket, NH) - Tossed six scoreless innings in a 3-0 win over Lock Haven. Allowed just three hits and fanned five en route to a win.
Wayne Parker, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., 1B, Manchester, CT) - Batted .556 (5-9) with three RBI and posted a .778 slugging percentage in a 3-1 week. Had two hits and two RBI in a 5-2 win over Lock Haven.

FRANKLIN PIERCE: Franklin Pierce has won 12-straight, matching the longest winning streak in program history set in April 2004. The Ravens are ranked No. 7 in this week's Collegiate Baseball magazine Division II poll, marking its highest regular season rank and matching its highest national ranking in program history when they were ranked seventh after reaching the semifinal round of the 2003 World Series. Franklin Pierce faces No. 1 Tampa on Tuesday night, marking its first top ten battle in program history. The Ravens posted a 4-1 victory over the top-ranked Spartans last season. Tampa enters tomorrow night's game winners of a school-record 20-straight. Senior Tyler Cummings (South Paris, Maine) and junior Daniel Fournier (Worcester, Mass.) have both extended their current shutout streaks to 17 innings, just two thirds of an inning shy of Keith Brouillard's school record string of 17.2 innings set in 2004. Cummings matched the school's career win mark with his 20th victory on Sunday. He is not 20-11 over his four-year career, matching the win total set by Chris Shank in 2002 and matched by Jon White in 2003. Head Coach Jayson King notched his 200th win at Franklin Pierce with Saturday's 4-3 win over Molloy in 10 innings. King has posted a 203-135-1 (.600) record in eight years at the College and has a career mark of 224-182-1 (.552) in ten years of coaching. Senior Elliott Shea (Jaffrey, N.H.) matched a school-record with three stolen bases in game one of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Molloy, then added two thefts in the nightcap?SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Penmen were ranked 10th in the Northeast in last week's NCBWA poll. At 5-1 the Penmen are off to their best start since posting a 4-2 mark at the start of the 1994 season. SNHU won seven of its first 10 games that year en route to a 21-16 record. Sophomore Ryan Thompson (Westford, MA) has hit safely in each of SNHU's first six games. Junior Rob Hennessy (Westford, MA) has allowed just one earned run over two starts (10 innings) this season. Senior Casey O'Brien (Newmarket, NH) has moved into 10th place in career strikeouts at SNHU with 86?SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: Coach Tim Shea's Owls have extended their win streak to nine games since opening the season in February with four losses to Armstrong Atlantic, ranked seventh last week in the latest NCAA Division II poll. In five games in Florida last week freshman second baseman Kevin Bowerman who moved into the position after starter Joe Kahlden suffered a broken nose, batted .563 with nine hits in 16 at bats, including a double, triple and five runs batted in with a .750 slugging percentage. The Owls, who topped Bridgeport in a doubleheader and then won single games over Merrimack and New Haven twice, are hitting .345 and have scored 109 runs in 13 contests. Junior third baseman Jose Ortiz, Jr., is batting .509 with 15 runs batted in, one behind team leader Joe Pagan. The senior catcher/dh has driven in 16 runs and has a .357 batting average. First baseman Nick Czekaj is also off to a quick start, hitting .446 with three doubles, a triple and a homer with 12 runs batted in. Junior outfielder Sean Morgan had a power surge in Florida, belting three homers, including two in a 9-5 win over New Haven?BENTLEY: Senior RF GJ Vicente (Salem, N.H.) became the third member of this year's team to reach the century mark in career hits, joining junior SS Steve Gath (Reading, Mass.) and senior 3B Chad Mastin (Newmarket, N.H.)?ASSUMPTION: Assumption played just one game this past week (at Holy Cross) as their conference opener with Southern Connecticut was postponed due to wet field conditions. Senior Tyler Vivian (Ashland, MA/Marian) became the 34th Greyhound to record 100 career hits (2nd inning home run) last Thursday against Holy Cross. Freshman Mike Baillargeon (Worcester, MA/Holy Name) continued his hot start, getting a hit in his 11th straight game (fifth double of season).
