Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Bob Savoy, Bentley (Sr., OF, Norwell, MA) - Hit .500 (11-22) with seven runs scored, eight RBI, one triple, a homer and five stolen bases during a 2-4 week. Against Merrimack, in a 16-10 win, was 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs scored. Hit first career homerun in 8-6 win at Saint Rose.

Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week

Joe Malzone, UMass Lowell (Sr., SP, Leominster, MA) - Went 1-0 with a 0.64 ERA in two starts. Charged with just one run on eight hits with 12 strikeouts over 14 innings. Threw a complete game, four-hit shutout in a 5-0 win at Bryant and allowed just one run on four hits over five innings in a win against Mercy.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Ryan Price, Saint Rose (Fr., OF, Binghamton, NY) - Hit .348 (8-23. 6 RBI, 3 R, 2 2B) and had a .463 on-base percentage during a 4-2 week. In an 8-6 loss versus Bentley, went 4-for-6 with two RBI, a double and a run. In a doubleheader split at Pace was a combined 3-for-6 with two RBI, a double and a run.

Weekly Honor Roll:


Mike Baillargeon, Assumption (So., SS, Worcester, MA) - Hit .368 (7-for-19, 2B, 3B, 5 R, 3 RBI, 3 SB), slugged .526 (10 TB), and had a .478 on-base percentage last week. Went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base in a win at Saint Anselm. In a split doubleheader, went 2-for-4 (R, SB, RBI) against Southern Connecticut and 3-for-4 (2B, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB) in a victory over Merrimack.

Michael Colebrook, Assumption (Fr., SP, Leicester, MA) - Went 1-1 last week in two starts, pitching 15 innings (1.20 ERA), three runs (2 earned), three walks, and 10 strikeouts. Pitched a complete game win at Saint Anselm, allowing an unearned run, four strikeouts, four hits, and two walks.

Charlie Pagliarulo, Bentley (Fr., 2B, Medford, MA) - In six games, hit .368 (7-19) with four RBI and six runs. Had a .538 on base percentage and a .474 slugging percentage. In a 16-10 win over Merrimack, was 3-for-4 with 4 RBI and 3 runs.

Matt Anderson, Franklin Pierce (Jr., C, Medford, MA) - Hit .545 (6-for-11) with two runs, two doubles, a home run and five RBI in a 3-0 week. Slugged 1.000 and posted a .643 on-base percentage as well. Was 2-for-5 with a double, home run and two RBI in a win at Merrimack. Hit 2-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBI in the victory at Southern Connecticut. Batted 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win over Saint Anselm.

Arric Mather, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, Danville, NH) - Carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before settling on seven one-hit shutout innings in the regular season finale against Saint Anselm. Faced the minimum through six and a third and struck out seven batters.

Kevin Renaud, Franklin Pierce (Jr., OF, Southbridge, MA) - Hit .500 (7-for-14) with six runs scored, four doubles, a triple, two stolen bases and six RBI in a 3-0 week. Slugged .929 and posted a .500 on-base percentage, adding an outfield assist. Was 3-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI and two runs scored in win at Southern Connecticut. Batted 3-for-4 with a double, triple, stolen base, three runs scored and two RBI in win over Saint Anselm.

Kevin Graham, UMass Lowell (Sr., SP, Billerica, MA) – Earned a win in a complete game, five hit effort in the 5-1 victory versus Bryant. Struck out four and walked just one over the nine innings.

Tim Keene, UMass Lowell (So., DH, Berlin, NH) - Hit .458 (11-for-24) with four runs and six RBI. Had three multi-hit games, including a three-hit, two RBI effort against Mercy. Was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in a win at Bentley. Was 6-for-15 in the four-game series with Bryant; went 2-for-3 with two RBI in a 6-5 win in game two at Bryant.

Patrick Wilson, UMass Lowell (Sr., OF, Dracut, MA) - Hit .462 (12-for-26) with five doubles, five runs and five RBI this past week. Began the week going 2-for-3 with two runs in a win over Mercy and had 10 hits, three runs and five RBI in the four game series against Bryant. Was 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 5-1 win versus Bryant (5/4) and went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run in a 5-0 win in game one at Bryant. Was 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs in a 6-5 win in game two at Bryant.

Jeff Bercume, Merrimack (So., OF, Leicester, MA) – Went 10-24 with three RBI, five runs and two stolen bases in a 3-2 week.

Jack Cawley, Pace (Jr., OF, Bronx, NY) - Batted .421 (8-for-19), slugged .684 and had an on base percentage of .542 with seven runs scored, a triple, a homerun, two RBI and was a perfect 4-for-4 in the stolen base department. In a two-game set with American International, went 3-for-7 with five runs and three stolen bases. In a three-game series with Saint Rose, batted 5-for-12 with two runs scored, two RBI, a triple, a homerun, and stole a base.

Skyler Byrd, Southern New Hampshire (So., C, Milford, NH) - Batted .321 (9-28) with two doubles and five RBI in a 3-4 week. Went a combined 8-for-14 with four RBI in a three-game sweep of American International.

Chris Herrmann, Stonehill (Sr., SP, Chelmsford, MA) - Went the distance on the mound, allowing an unearned run and recording 13 strikeouts in the 3-1 victory over Assumption.

Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: A few more school records fell this past week, including the Bentley single season records for games started and innings pitched. Grad student Brian Fioretti (Huntington, N.Y.) will enter the Northeast-10 playoffs with 12 games started and 91 innings pitched. His seven complete games match the Bentley record. Senior SS Steve Gath (Reading, Mass.) broke the career record for at bats and moved into second place all-time in hits with 221.

FRANKLIN PIERCE: The Ravens clinched their second-straight Northeast-10 Regular Season title with a 26-4 mark, besting last year's program-record 25-5 Conference mark. Franklin Pierce enters postseason play with a 41-8 mark, one game better than their 40-9 regular season clip from a year ago.

PACE: The Setters earned a bid to the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament for the first time in school history. Pace will host Bentley in its first postseason game in six years.

SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE:
Senior Rob Hennessy (Westford, MA) totaled 14 strikeouts in two starts last week and closed out his four-year career ranked third in career strikeouts among SNHU's all-time leaders with 124.

STONEHILL:
The Skyhawks have now reached the 20-win plateau in each of Head Coach Patrick Boen's 10 seasons at the helm with Sunday's sweep of Assumption. Stonehill tied the school single-game record with eight stolen bases in the opening game of Sunday's twinbill with the Greyhounds, including a record-tying five by senior 3B Adam Pardo (Hanover, Mass.) alone.
