Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Scott Savastano, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SS, Plymouth, Mass.) - Hit
.364 (4-for-11) with three runs scored, a double, triple, two home
runs and five RBI in a 2-1 week, while slugging 1.182 and posting a
.462 on-base percentage. Was a combined 3-for-7 with a triple, two
home runs, three runs scored in a doubleheader sweep of
Philadelphia. Homered in back-to-back at bats in the twinbill,
belting a deciding two-run homer in the top of the ninth in game
one and then adding a three run bomb in the top of the first in the
nightcap. Posted a double at Adelphi.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Mike Adams, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SP, Orchard Park, N.Y.) - Yielded
just an earned run on five hits with nine strikeouts and two walks
over nine innings at Adelphi. Retired the last nine batters faced,
striking out the last five.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Matt Sucharewicz, Saint Anselm (Fr., C, Peabody, Mass.) - Went a
combined 7-for-15 with two homeruns, including a grand slam against
Eckerd and a solo shot against Assumption, finishing with seven
RBIs.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Wally Derosiers, Assumption (Fr., OF, Shrewsbury, Mass.) - In a 3-3
week in Florida, batted .462 (6-for-13, 4 RS, 3 RBI). Was 2-for-5
with a run scored and two RBI in a come-from-behind win over North
Dakota. In a victory over Lewis, was 1-for-2 with an RBI coming off
the bench. Was 1-for-3 with a run scored in a win over Saint Anselm
and 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored versus Ashland.
Mike DiReda, Assumption (Jr., 3B, Shrewsbury, Mass.) - In a 3-3
week in Florida, batted .500 (9-for-18, 3 RS, 2B, 3 RBI) and
slugged .556 (10 TB). In a come-from-behind win over North Dakota,
was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. In a win over Lewis,
was 3-for-3 with a run scored, a double, and a RBI. Versus Kentucky
Wesleyan, was 2-for-4.
Tim Dupuis, Assumption (So., RP, West Suffield, Conn.) - In a 3-3
week in Florida, picked up two wins in relief and earned a save in
four appearances. Did not allow a run in 6.1 innings pitched,
struck out six, and held opposing batters to a .174 average. Shut
down North Dakota over two innings, allowing just three hits and
striking out two to earn the win. Pitched 1.2 innings of relief to
earn a win over Lewis, allowing a hit and striking out two.
Recorded a save in a win over Saint Anselm.
Devin Murphy, Assumption (Sr., 1B, Waterbury, Conn.) - In a 3-3
week in Florida, batted .333 (6-for-18, 5 RS, 2 HRs, 5 RBI) and
slugged .667 (12 TB) while not making an error in 44 chances. Was
2-for-2 with 2 runs scored, a solo home run and 2 RBI in a
come-from-behind win over North Dakota. In a win over Lewis, was
2-for-4 with a run scored. In a victory over Saint Anselm, was
1-for-3 with a three-run home run.
Mike DeCoste, Bentley (Jr., C, Chelmsford, Mass.) - Was directly
involved in half of Bentley's runs during a 2-1 week, with three
runs scored and four RBI. Hit .308 (4-13) with a home run. In an
8-6 win over Saint Anselm, was three-for-five with three runs
scored and three RBI.
Jarrod Marchesi, Bentley (Jr., SP, Peabody, Mass.) - Pitched a
complete game six-hitter in a 4-1 win over American Internatioanl.
Did not walk a batter and struck out seven.
James Roche, Bentley (Fr., OF, Arlington, Mass.) - During a 2-1
week, hit .538 (7-13) with two doubles, a run scored and a .571 on
base percentage. Had four hits in an 8-6 win over Saint Anselm and
two in a 4-1 victory over American International.
Nick Campbell, Bryant (So., OF, Raynham, Mass.) - Went 4-for-6 in
the 15-5 win over Felician, scoring a pair of runs and stealing a
base.
Taylor Ferguson, Bryant (So., OF, Charlton, Mass.) - Went 2-for-4
with four RBI, including a three-run homer in the ninth inning in
the 15-5 win over Felician. Scored two runs and walked once along
with a double and a home run.
Eric Loh, Bryant (Sr., SP, Old Greenwich, Conn.) - Recorded a win
in the 15-5 victory over Felician, pitching 6.1 innings and
allowing three hits while striking out 10.
Pat McKenna, Bryant (Jr., SS, Orange, Conn.) - Broke the 15-5 win
over Felician wide open with a grand slam in the fourth inning.
Finished the day 3-for-5, including a sixth-inning triple, a grand
slam, three runs scored, a walk and six runs batted in.
Derek Ingui, Franklin Pierce (Fr., DH, Sterling, Mass.) - Hit a
combined .556 (5-for-9) with four runs scored, a triple and three
RBI in a 2-1 weekend. Slugged .778 and posted a .667 on-base
percentage for the week. Was a combined 3-for-6 with three runs
scored, a triple and three RBI in doubleheader sweep of
Philadelphia. Delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the top of the
ninth in game one, was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and
two RBI in the nightcap. Hit 2-for-3 with a run scored at
Adelphi.
Andrew Long, Saint Anselm (Sr., SP, Peabody, Mass.) - Tossed six
innings of shutout ball in a 1-0 win over Bentley. Allowed only
three hits and two walks to pick up the victory.
