Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Kevin Farrell, American International (Sr., 1B, Wilbraham, Mass.) -
Batted .500 (8-16) with one double, two home runs, eight RBI and
six runs scored in the team’s first four games of the year.
Had a monster game in the 10-9 come-from-behind win against Saint
Anselm, hitting a two-run bomb in the first inning and then
crushing a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth. Went
3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI against Bentley
and was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored against Rollins.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Jack Leathersich, UMass Lowell (Fr., SP, Beverly, Mass.) - Earned
his first collegiate win in a 2-1 victory at Adelphi. Over seven
innings scattered four hits, two walks and one earned run while
striking out four.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Ben Waldrip, Saint Anselm (Fr., 1B, Medford, Mass.) - Batted .333
this past week, by ripping four doubles, totaling four RBI, four
runs and three walks. Also made a start against Bentley and went
seven innings allowing no runs and striking out four batters in his
first collegiate win.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Dan Bassani, American International (Jr., OF, Naples, Fla.) -
Batted .385 (5-13) with a double, a home run, two RBI and four runs
scored in the first four games of the season. Went 3-for-5 with a
home run, two RBI and four runs scored in a 10-9 come-from-behind
win over Saint Anselm.
Derek Migrants, Assumption (Jr., OF, Ayer, Mass.) - In the 3-2
season opening week in Winter Haven, Fla., batted .400 with two
home runs including a grand slam and five RBI.
Mike DeCoste, Bentley (Jr., C, Chelmsford, Mass.) – In a 2-1
week, hit .400 (4-10) with a double, homer and six RBI. Slugged
.800 and walked three times for a .571 on base percentage. Was
3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in a 9-7 win over Saint Anselm,
and hit a three-run double against American International in a 12-4
win.
Jeff Eldridge, Bentley (Fr., DH, Danvers, Mass.) - In first two
collegiate games, was 4-for-6 with two runs scored, two RBI, three
walks and a .778 on base percentage. Was 3-for-4 versus Saint
Anselm, and was involved in four runs (2 scored, 2 RBI) in 12-4 win
over American International.
James Roche, Bentley (So., OF, Arlington, Mass.) - In a 2-1 week,
hit .385 (5-13) with two homeruns, one double and three RBI.
Slugged .923 and had a .429 on base percentage.
Tom Cote, Franklin Pierce (Sr., RP, Swanzey, N.H.) - Threw 5.2
shutout innings of one-hit relief, walked one and struck out five
to record the win in the first game of a doubleheader at
Philadelphia.
Kevin Rivers, Franklin Pierce (Jr., OF, Bristol, Conn.) - Hit
4-for-6 with two doubles, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored
in a 2-0 week. Went 2-for-3 with a double and a two-run home run in
the first game at Philadelphia. Hit 2-for-3 with an RBI double and
a run scored in the second game.
Pat Devlin, UMass Lowell (Fr., 3B, Tewksbury, Mass.) – In two
games, batted .500 (4-8), slugged .625 and maintained an on-base
percentage of .600 in a 1-1 week. Also compiled three RBI, three
stolen bases (three attempts), two walks and a run. Batted 2-for-4
with three RBI, two stolen bases, a walk and a run in a 10-9 loss
at Dowling. Followed up with a 2-for-4 effort, a walk and a stolen
base in a 2-1 win at Adelphi.
Joe Cotone, Pace (Sr., OF, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) - Batted
5-for-11 (.455) and slugged .818 in a three-game series against
Delta State. Blasted a solo homerun, while also totaling two RBIs,
two runs scored and a double.
TJ Murphy, Saint Anselm (So., OF, Reading, Mass.) - Hit .522 by
going 12-for-23 this past week in Florida. Had multi-hit games in
five of the last six games, including a perfect 3-for-3 with two
runs and two doubles in a non-conference win over Bentley.
Nick DeMidio, Saint Rose (Sr., SP, Scotia, N.Y.) - Tossed six
innings of no hit ball in a no-decision versus Felician. Walked
three and allowed a run.
Angel Nunez, Saint Rose (So., OF, Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Batted .429
(6-for-14) with five runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base
throughout a 1-3 week. Went 4-for-6 with an RBI and a walk during a
doubleheader split again Felician.
Scott Strong, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., OF, Naperville, Ill.) -
Batted .375 with a home run and five RBI in four games against
Molloy. Was also 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts. Recorded base
hits in all four games.
