Northeast-10 Player and Pitcher of the Week

Matt Guisti, Stonehill (Sr., SP, Hopkinton, Mass.) - Threw a perfect game on just 65 pitches on his way to striking out six in a 9-0 seven inning win over Assumption. In his only other start of the week, threw a shutout with six strikeouts against C.W. Post.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Ryan Geffert, Southern Connecticut (Fr., 1B, Plymouth, Pa.) - Went 7-for-18 with a .389 average and .889 slugging percentage during a 4-1 week with two RBI, three doubles and two home runs including a game-winning home run in the ninth against Caldwell.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Brett Damato, Bentley (Jr., OF, Commack, N.Y.) - Helped the team to a 5-1 week by hitting .500 (13-26) and slugging .923. Scored eight runs, drove in six, and had three doubles, a triple and two homers. Recorded a .483 on base percentage and handled 15 chances without an error. Had at least two hits in every game, and against Saint Leo, hit a three-run homer with two outs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at the time. Also had his 100th career hit.

Jarrod Marchesi, Bentley (Sr., SP, Peabody, Mass.) - Pitched a five-hit complete game shutout against American International. Did not issue a walk, struck out five and allowed only one runner to reach third base.

Charlie Pagliarulo, Bentley (Jr., 2B, Medford, Mass.) - In a 5-1 week, hit .478 (11-23) with five doubles, seven RBI and seven runs scored. Had a .517 on base percentage and a .976 fielding percentage (41 chances, one error). Hit safely in every game, scored in five of the six, and had an RBI in five of the six as well. Was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in a 10-6 win over Saint Leo. Also recorded his 100th career hit.

Mike Baillargeon, Assumption (Sr., 2B, Worcester, Mass.) – This past week batted .600 including nine hits, five extra base hits including two home runs. Drove in four runs and scored seven and had an on base percentage of .647.

Mike Adams, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, Orchard Park, N.Y.) - Started, threw 6.2 innings, gave up one unearned run on two hits, walked three and struck out a career-high 13, but took a tough-luck loss against Dominican.

Mike Dowd, Franklin Pierce (Fr., C, East Bridgewater, Mass.) - Hit 2-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs in a win over Caldwell. Went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in a win over St. Thomas. Went 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, drove in a run and scored another the loss to St. Thomas.

Taylor von Kriegenbergh, UMass Lowell (Jr, 1B, Stoneham, Mass.) -
In seven games this past week, batted .292 (7-24) with nine runs, five RBI and three walks in a 5-2 week. Highlights include a 2-for-4 effort with three RBI and two runs in a 10-5 victory over Dominican; and a 2-for-5 showing with two runs and one RBI in an 8-5 loss to Molloy.

Brendan Pyburn, Merrimack (Jr., 2B, Peabody, Mass.) - Tallied seven hits in 15 at-bats this past week, driving in four runs and hitting a homerun. Also scored seven runs.

Evan Okon, New Haven (Sr., 2B, Bellmore, N.Y.) - Hit .417 (5-for-12) in three games this past week. Led the team with four runs scored and four RBI, while slugging .500 with an on-base percentage of .467.

Joe Cotone, Pace (Sr., OF, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) - Batted .385 (10-for-26) with three doubles and a triples in seven games. Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base in a win over Molloy. Had two hits in four at-bats with an RBI double and scored a run in a tie against Concordia. Recorded a run-scoring double in a win over Caldwell. Went 5-for-13 with a double, one RBI and four runs scored in a four-game series against Barry.

Nicholas DeMeo, Pace (Sr., SP, Farmingville, N.Y.) - Tossed 6.1 innings of scoreless ball, while allowing four hits and struck out four, earning the win over Caldwell.

Jeremiah St. Louis, Saint Rose (Sr., SP, Tupper Lake, N.Y.) - Went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .148 batting average throughout 7.2 innings of work covering two appearances. Fanned 11 and scattered four hits in seven innings on the mound to collect a victory against St. Thomas Aquinas. Also tossed 2/3 innings of hitless relief against Dowling.

Ed Bethke, Southern Connecticut (Jr., SP, Branford, Conn.) - Pitched a complete game shutout against Caldwell with seven strikeouts, zero walks and five hits.

Kevin Bowerman, Southern Connecticut (Sr., 3B, West Haven, Conn.) – In a 4-1 week, went 5-for-12 (.389 BA.) with a double, five RBI, two runs, two stolen bases, three walks and a game winning triple against Bloomfield, driving in three runs.

Steve Golbranson, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., SP, Abington, Mass.) - Pitched seven innings in a complete-game win over C.W. Post. Allowed five hits and struck out five while giving up just one run.

Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: Juniors Brett Damato (Commack, N.Y.) and Charlie Pagliarulo (Medford, Mass.) each notched their 100th career hit during the Falcons’ trip to Florida.
