Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Jeff Berume, Merrimack (Sr., OF, Leicester, Mass.) – Hit .526
this past week with 20 hits in 38 at-bats to go with six doubles, a
homer, seven steals, and 10 RBI.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Chris Pinette, Merrimack (Fr., SP, Norwood, Mass.) - Hurled a
no-hitter, in his second career start, striking out three and
walking one in a 4-0 win over Philadelphia.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Pat Devlin, UMass Lowell (Fr., 2B, Dracut, Mass.) - Batted .421
(8-19), slugged .632 with three stolen bases, five runs and two
walks in a 6-0 week. Hit safely in four of five games. Went 1-for-2
with two stolen bases and one run in a 2-1 win over Caldwell;
Batted 7-for-13 in the three-game sweep over New Haven with four
runs, one walk, one stolen base and one RBI.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kevin Farrell, American International (Sr., 1B, Wilbraham, Mass.) -
Hit .308 (4-13) this past week, including two homeruns. The first
homerun of the week was a walk-off in the bottom of the ninth to
beat Bloomfield 1-0. Against Southern New Hampshire, went 2-for-4
with another solo homerun.
Mike Baillargeon, Assumption (Sr., 2B, Worcester, Mass.) - In a 3-0
weekend series with Stonehill, hit .545 with six hits including the
200th of his career. Also scored six runs had two doubles, one
triple, one home run and had four RBI.
Jeff Barbale, Assumption (Sr., P, Charlton, Mass.) - In seven
innings pitched, allowed just two hits and one run (unearned) while
striking out six in the 9-1 win over Stonehill in the first game of
a double header.
Mike DiReda, Assumption (Sr., 3B, Shrewsbury, Mass.) - In a 3-0
weekend series with Stonehill, hit .533 with eight hits and scored
six runs. Had two doubles one triple and two home runs and added
seven RBI.
Mike Adams, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, Orchard Park, N.Y.) - In his
only appearance of the week, threw 7.2 innings, allowed one run on
five hits, walked three and matched his career high with 13
strikeouts and did not factor in the decision against St. Thomas
Aquinas.
Kyle Vazquez, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SP, Berlin, Conn.) - Threw a
seven-inning shutout in his only appearance of the week, the first
game of a doubleheader against Molloy. Walked one and struck out
six to post the victory.
J.T. Leary, UMass Lowell (Jr., SS, Newburyport, Mass.) - Batted
.375 (6-16) with three RBI, six walks and two runs in a 6-0 week.
Batted 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBI in a 6-5 win over
Caldwell. Also batted 4-for-8 with four walks, two runs and one RBI
in the three-game sweep over New Haven.
Jimmy Rivas, New Haven (Sr., C, Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) - Had a
grand slam, four doubles and 12 RBI in six games this past week.
Finished the week with a .308 batting average and a .577 slugging
percentage. Led the team with eight hits in 26 plate
appearances.
Zach Dayton, Pace (Sr., SP, North Falmouth, Mass.) - Tossed 7.2
innings, allowing one run on seven hits, while recording seven
strikeouts against Saint Anselm.
Michael Sciarretta, Pace (So., P, Stamford, Conn.) - Tossed eight
innings in a start and one relief appearance. Tossed a scoreless
inning, registering two strikeouts in a team win over Molloy.
Pitched seven innings in a start against Saint Anselm allowing no
earned runs and seven hits, while fanning seven.
Ben Waldrip, Saint Anselm (Fr., 1B, Medford, Mass.) - Went 6-for-16
at the plate and cracked his first-career home run in the 8-7
non-conference loss to Post University. Also compiled four RBI and
two doubles throughout the week.
Nick Delzio, Southern Connecticut (Jr., OF, Hopewell Junction,
N.Y.) - Went 3-for-9 in a 2-1 week with five RBI, three walks,
three runs scored and a double. In the win versus Saint Rose, went
2-for-3 from the plate with two RBI and a run scored.
Ryan Quinn, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., SP, Lebanon, Conn.) -
Struck out a career-high 14 batters and scattered eight hits while
walking three in a complete-game win American International.
Allowed just two earned runs and held the Yellow Jackets to a .216
batting average.
Ryan Healey, Stonehill (Jr., C, Lynn, Mass.) - Hit a team-best .417
in four games last week. Three of his five hits were for extra
bases, including a pair of homers. Had a slugging percentage of
1.000 and an on-base percentage of .462. Highlighted the week with
a 3-for-5 performance with three RBI in an 11-10 loss to
Assumption.
