NCAA Baseball East Regional: Day Four

claims 2012 East Regional Championship
Manchester, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire
University won twice on Saturday to earn its spot in the NCAA
Division II Baseball Championship East Regional championship game,
which culminated in a 4-3 victory over second-seeded Le Moyne
College.
The Penmen will now travel to Cary, N.C. for the Division II
College World Series, which begins next Saturday.
Senior catcher Kevin Spatkowski was
named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
The Penmen first earned a 6-3 victory over fifth-seeded Wilmington
(Del.) University on Saturday to eliminate the Wildcats from the
regional before defeating Franklin Pierce, 5-1, to advance to
Sunday’s title game.
Le Moyne also knocked off fourth-seeded Saint Anselm College, 7-4,
on Saturday, eliminating the Hawks from NCAA play. The Dolphins
then eliminated Franklin Pierce with a 6-2 victory on Sunday
afternoon.
