Player of the Week

John Welch, Saint Anselm (Jr., 3B, Medford, MA) - Hit .500 (16-32) with six doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI, slugged .875 and had a .514 OBP in a 4-3 week. Notched two game winning hits including a GW home run against Dowling and a GW extra-inning single against Concordia.

Pitcher of the Week

Ronnie Nelson, UMass Lowell (So, RP, Shrewsbury, MA) - Notched two wins and a save in 4 2/3 innings, while shutting down three different rallies with runners in scoring position, protecting two leads and preserving one tie. Went 1 2/3 innings (0 H, 0 BB) in a victory over Mansfield. In a win over Molloy, hurled the final 1 1/3 innings (2H, K). Earned a second win in as many days (7-4) over Caldwell with 1 2/3 innings (3K, 1 BB) of relief.

Freshman of the Week

David Fradette, Stonehill (Fr., OF, Goffstown, NH) - Hit .625 (5-8) with a double, two triples, three runs scored and two RBI in 4-2 week at Gene Cusic Classic, including a 3-for-4 effort (2 RBI) in a win over Post.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Rick Sotiropoulos, Merrimack (So., OF, Ipswich, MA) ? Hit .448 (13-29) with 11 runs, seven RBI, five doubles, a home run, three stolen bases, five walks and three hits by pitch in a 0-5 week. Went 4-for-4 (3 R, 2 RBI) vs. Bridgeport and 3-for-4 (4 R, 3 RBI, 2 2B, HR) vs. Millersville.

Nick Karthas, Merrimack (Fr., 3B, Botwell, WA) ? Hit .382 (13-34) with four runs, eight RBI, three doubles and a triple in a 0-5 week. Went 2-for-4 (RBI, 2 2B) against Millersville. Hit safely in eight of nine games, and had two hits in five contests.

Dan Pope, UMass Lowell (Fr, IF, Billerica, MA) ? Hit .467 (7-15) in a 3-1 week. Went 2-for-4 (R, RBI) in a win over Mansfield, 2 for 3 (R) in a win over Molloy, and combined 3 for 8 in a DH split with Caldwell.

Ryan Williams, Saint Anselm (So., SP, Lynnfield, MA) - Threw a CG nine-inning shutout (6 H, 4 K, 0 BB) over Assumption.

Ryan Fecteau, Saint Anselm (Sr., SP, Gilmanton, NH) - Threw a school record 11.1 innings (143 pitches) in a win over Concordia and earned a win with 1.1 innings of relief against Dowling.

Keith Beauregard, Saint Anselm (Sr., OF, Leominster, MA) ? Hit .419 (13-31) with four doubles, two triples, four RBI and two stolen bases in a 4-3 week.

Jean-Francois DuFour, Saint Rose (Sr., OF, Beauharnois, Que.) - Belted four home runs in a 4-4 week. Went 2-for-3 (5 RBI, 2 HR) in a win over Lock Haven. Added three hits (HR, 3B, 3 RBI) in a win over Molloy.

Brendan Mullins, Saint Rose (Jr., RP, Hudson, NY) - Hurled six innings of scoreless relief over two appearances, picking up a win over No. 5 Ashland (OH) with three shutout innings and added one-hit, three inning relief in a win over Molloy.

Joe Mariano, Saint Rose (Sr., C, Troy, NY) - Hit for the cycle (4 RBI) in a win over Molloy. Hit two home runs (3 RBI) in a win over Bridgeport.

Chris Hart, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., OF, Waterville, ME) - Went 6-for-8 with four RBI and three runs scored in two season-opening losses to West Liberty State. Lined four singles and drove in three runs in a 14-13 loss.

Max Vigliotti, Stonehill (So., OF, Stamford, CT) - Hit .615 (8-13) with a pair of doubles, a triple and 8 RBI in 4-2 week at the Gene Cusic Classic, including two hits and four RBI in 6-2 victory over Caldwell.

Billy Sittig, Stonehill (Jr., SP, West Roxbury, MA) - Allowed four hits and one run while fanning seven in CG effort in 10-1 win over Caldwell.

Tim Flynn, Stonehill (Sr., OF, Clifton Park, NY) - Hit .429 (9-21) with pair of doubles, three stolen bases and four RBI in a 4-2 week at Gene Cusic Classic, including 6-for-8 effort in a DH sweep of Caldwell.

Billy McLane, Stonehill (Sr., SP, Plymouth, NH) - Tossed a CG seven hitter (2 R, 7 K) in a 6-2 win over Caldwell.

Notes: Northeast-10: In this week?s NCBWA Northeast Regional Poll, Bryant is No. 1, Saint Anselm is No. 2, Franklin Pierce is No. 3, Stonehill is No. 4, Saint Rose is No. 5, and UMass Lowell and Southern Connecticut are tied at No. 10. In last week?s NCBWA Division II poll, Bryant was tied for 21st while Franklin Pierce and Saint Anselm were receiving votes ? Stonehill: Stonehill finished with a 6-4 mark at the Gene Cusic Classic, posting a winning record on its Spring Break trip for the third straight season. The Chieftains won six of seven match-ups against NCAA Northeast Regional foes as well during the trip, including a key doubleheader sweep of 2004 NCAA Northeast Regional participant Caldwell last Friday evening. Stonehill was ranked eighth in last week's NCBWA Northeast Regional poll. Head Coach Patrick Boen returns North just four victories shy of reaching the 200-career win plateau ? American International: AIC's three-game winning streak in Florida is the program's longest since the 2002 season. The Yellow Jackets are just one win shy of last season's total ? Saint Anselm: Senior John Lenkowski (Northampton, Mass./ Northampton) struck out a season-high 11 batters in a CG win over Assumption. Chris Greeke (Hamilton, Mass./ Hamilton-Wenham) and Ryan O?Rourke (Norwood, Mass./ Norwood) hit their first career home runs with Greeke doing it against Saint Leo and O?Rourke launching his as part of a 3-for-3 day against 4th-ranked Tampa. The Hawks shared the top spot with Bryant in last week's NCBWA Northeast Region Poll and sport a perfect 4-0 mark in regional play so far.
