Player of the Week

Shawn Hayes, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SS, Charlton, MA) - Hit a team-best .400 (8-20) and slugged .650 with eight runs scored, three doubles, a triple, eight RBI and three steals in a 5-0 week. Had a .435 on-base percentage. Extended his hitting streak to six games. Went 2-for-6 (2B, 3B, 3 RBI, 3 R) at Bentley. Was a combined 5-for-11 (2 2B, 4 R, 5 RBI), in a three game set with Merrimack.

Pitcher of the Week

Jeff Farrell, Southern Connecticut (Jr., SP, Naugatuck, CT) - Posted a 2-0 week, pitching 18 innings without giving up a run. Yielded four hits (all singles), in two games with 14 strikeouts and four walks. Tossed a two-hit CG (3 BB, 8 K) shutout (3-0) win over Assumption. Allowed two hits (BB, 6 K)over nine innings in a shutout (1-0) win at UMass Lowell.

Freshman of the Week

Chris Smith, Merrimack (Fr., P, Canton, MA) - In three appearances with one start, posted a 2-0 record in 10.2 innings while giving up no earned runs. Gave up two hits, walked two and struck out four. Topped Saint Anselm twice in two days, throwing 9.2 innings of scoreless ball (1 H, 2 BB, 3 K).

Weekly Honor Roll:

Eric Boissy, American International (Sr., 1B, Enfield, CT) - Hit .438 (3 2B, 4 RBI) over four games. Hit safely in all four contests. Went 3-for-5 against Stonehill (notched 100th career hit).

Andy Barlow, Assumption (Sr., SS, Milford, MA) - Hit .391 with four doubles, four runs scored, 13 total bases, a stolen base, and a RBI. Went 6-for-12 in a three game set against Southern N.H. Was 3-for-4 (2B, 2 R) in game two and 2-for-3 (2B, R) in game three.

Tom Haugh, Bentley (So., 1B, Andover, MA) - In a 2-6 week, hit .333 (9-27) with a double, four runs scored and six RBI. Also had a .455 on base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage (74 chances). His two-run single in the ninth gave Bentley a 2-1 win over Saint Anselm.

Mike Rocco, Bryant (So., 1B, Tewksbury, MA) - Hit .300 in a 2-4 week with 5 RBI. Had two GW hits and a game-tying hit in the ninth against Saint Rose. Drove in the winning run in an extra inning win at Southern Connecticut. Added a game winning hit in the 11th against Saint Rose.

Daniel Fournier, Franklin Pierce (So., SP, Worcester, MA) - Went seven innings allowing three-hits and no runs in a win over Merrimack. Struck out a career-best 13 and walked one.

Matt Reilly, Pace (Jr., SP, Denville, NJ) ? Went 2-0 in two starts with a 0.59 ERA. Held Dowling scoreless, extending his consecutive inning streak to 18, on seven hits (3 K, 1 BB). Against Bryant, allowed one run on five hits over 8 1/3, striking out nine and walking three.

Robert Van Riper, Pace (Sr., P, Bloomingdale, NJ) - In two appearances, posted a 1-0 record with a 0.00 ERA in 12 innings. Against Assumption, came on for two innings of relief in a scoreless game and picked up the win, allowing one hit and striking out three. Against Bryant, allowed two unearned runs on six hits, striking out 16 over 10 innings.

Joe Mariano, Saint Rose (Sr., C, Troy, NY) - Hit .345 (10-29) with five RBI and hit safely in all games of a 2-5 week. Went 3-for-5 (2 R, RBI, 2B) in a win over Bryant. Went 2-for-4 (RBI, R) in a win at Stonehill.

Jeremiah St. Louis, Saint Rose (Fr., SP, Tupper Lake, NY) - Went 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA in 16.2 innings throughout two starts. Fanned 11 and allowed two runs on five hits in 8 innings with a win at Stonehill. Allowed three runs, none earned, on 11 hits and whiffed nine in 8.2 innings in a no-decision at Bryant.

Jeremy Terni, Southern Connecticut (Sr., 3B, Uncasville, CT) ? In a 5-2 week, hit .500 (14-28) with three doubles, two triples, a home run and two RBI while scoring nine runs. In a win (3-1) over UMass Lowell, scored two runs, tripled, scored and homered.

Chris Hart, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., OF, Waterville, ME) - Hit .391 (9-23) in six games of a 4-4 week. Totaled six runs and three RBI. Went 6-for-12 (4 R) in a weekend series with Assumption.

Ryan Halloran, Stonehill (Fr., SS, Tyngsboro, MA) - Hit .379 (11-29) with triple, two doubles and seven RBI in 6-2 week. Went 7-for-12 in three-game set with Merrimack and drove in four runs against AIC. Added two hits in a win (10-5) at Saint Rose.

Billy McLane, Stonehill (Sr., SP, Plymouth, NH) - Went 2-0 in two starts with 0.56 ERA, allowing 10 hits and an earned run in 16 innings with 10 strikeouts. Tossed CG three hitter (5 K) in a 2-1 win at Saint Rose and pitched seven scoreless innings (5 K) in 12-1 win over AIC.

Stonehill: Stonehill presented Head Coach Patrick Boen with his 200th career victory on Tuesday evening in a 12-1 triumph over American International, as the eighth-year mentor has posted an overall mark of 204-141-2 during his tenure at his alma mater. Senior 2B Craig Audette (Raynham, Mass.) became the 12th player in Stonehill history to amass his 100th career hit with a second inning single in Tuesday's win over American International. Stonehill, winners of seven of its last nine outings, is 14-5 against NCAA Northeast Regional foes and has held conference foes to a .209 team batting average while posting a 1.86 earned run average in 12 league contests to date ? Franklin Pierce: The Ravens, ranked second in last week's NCBWA Division II Northeast Regional poll, has won a season-best six-straight and eight of nine after a 5-0 week. Junior Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.) has hit safely in all 18 games for Franklin Pierce this season, matching the program's single-season hitting streak mark and establishing the school mark for a steak to start a season. Sophomore Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine) carries a 15-game streak into the week. Olson belted the first home run in the history of Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field Thursday. He later added a second home run as the Ravens christened their new home with four homers in the 8-3 victory over Bentley. Sophomore right-hander Daniel Fournier (Worcester, Mass.) struck out a career-best 13 batters in the Ravens win over Merrimack on Sunday ? UMass Lowell: Sophomore pitcher Peter Nickerson has not allowed a run in 18 2/3 innings and pitched nine innings of shutout baseball Sunday in UML's 1-0 loss to Southern Connecticut (10 innings). The last run scored on Nickerson was in the fourth inning of UML's 8-2 victory at Bentley Saturday, May 26 ? Southern New Hampshire: Senior Chris Hart (Waterville, ME) had a 21-game hitting streak snapped during a doubleheader at Bentley last week. The streak ranks as the second longest in program history behind Scott Bilodeau's school-record 24-game hitting streak. Hart, who owns a career batting average of .336, stands just three hits shy of breaking Bilodeau's school-record for career hits. Hart has totaled 159 career hits, while Bilodeau totaled 161 from 1996 through 1999. Senior Mike Bernard (Derry, NH) recorded his 150th career hit during a 4-2 win at Assumption Sunday. He ranks sixth in career hits (150). Senior Ray Powers (Stoneham, MA) stands two hits shy of 100 for his career. Powers has become just the third player in program history to record 30 or more career doubles ? Saint Anselm: On Saturday, freshman Nick Barese (Braintree, Mass./ Braintree) earned his first collegiate win with five innings of hitless relief in a 6-4 game two win over the Falcons ? Bentley: The control of senior RHP Tim Bryant (Reading, Mass.) has been amazing. He's issued only one walk in 42.2 innings this season, and going back to last season, only six in 109 innings ? American International: Senior Eric Boissy (Enfield, Conn.) notched his 100th career hit Thursday against Stonehill by going 3-for-5. In three years in a Yellow Jacket uniform Boissy is batting .308 with nine home runs, 34 doubles and 63 runs batted in ? Pace: David Qualben (Bronx, NY) stunned Southern N.H. with a complete game shutout on April 7th. Qualben allowed just two hits while tying the Pace all-time record for strikeouts in a nine inning game with 16. Qualben struck out 8 of the first ten batters faced and six straight from the second inning to the fourth. Earl Oakes (Bristol, CT) missed the first month of the season due to illness, but has emerged as the Setters stopper as of late. In three straight appearances, Oakes picked up the save. In 3 2/3 innings pitched, Oakes allowed two hits while striking out seven. In a game against Southern N.H., Oakes pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit while striking out five.
