Players of the Week
Nick Panza, Saint Rose (Jr., 2B, Colonie, NY) - Hit .478 (11-23, 5 RBI, 8 R, 4 SB) and extended his hitting streak to 11 games in a 3-3 week. Slugged .783 and had a .538 on-base percentage. Did not commit an error in 33 chances. Had four multi-hit games. Went 1-for-2 (2B, RBI, 2 R, 2 SB) in win over UMass Lowell (10-5). Went 3-for-5 (HR) in a loss to Concordia.
Garrett Olson, Franklin Pierce (So., 3B, Norway, ME) - Hit .458 (11-24, 9 R, 2 2B, 3B, HR, 4 RBI, 5 SB) in a 4-2 week. Also slugged .750 and had a .500 on-base percentage. Went 3-for-5 (2B, 2 RBI) against Assumption. Went 3-for-5 (3 R, program-record 3 SB) in a win (8-1) over Southern N.H. Fell a single shy of the cycle (3 R) in game two of a DH sweep of Saint Anselm.
Pitchers of the Week
Matt Hennessey, Southern Connecticut (Jr., SP, Wallingford, CT) ? In cold and snow at Merrimack, tossed a one hit 6-0 win (2 BB, 10 K). Allowed the only hit in the seventh.
Pete Nickerson, UMass Lowell (So., SP, Dracut, MA) ? Posted a nine inning, 2-0 CG win over Saint Rose, allowing four hits (0 BB, 11 K). Extended his scoreless streak to 27.2 innings.
Freshmen of the Week
Brian Quaglieri, Assumption (Fr., OF, Shrewsbury, MA) - In a 3-3 week, hit .435 (10-23, 4 RBI, 5 R), slugged .870 (3 2B, 2 3B, HR, 20 TB), and was error-free in 14 chances. Went 3-for-5 (RBI, 2 R, double) in a win at nationally ranked Franklin Pierce. Went 6-for-10 (2 RBI, 2 2B, 3B) in three games with Merrimack.
Justin Cox, Southern Connecticut (Fr., SP, Newburgh, NY) - Pitched a CG no-hit 5-0 win at AIC (5 BB, 7 K). Faced 32 batters.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Matt Cavallaro, Assumption (Jr., 1B, West Haven, CT) - Hit .385 (10-26), slugged .538 (2B, HR, 14 TB), and had 5 RBI with four runs scored last week. Went 3-for-4 (RBI, 2 R) in a win at nationally ranked Franklin Pierce. In three games with Merrimack, went 5-for-13 (HR, 2B, 4 RBI, 2R).
Ryan Collins, Assumption (Fr., SP, Sagamore Beach, MA) - Went 1-0 in two starts (15 IP, 16 K, 3 BB, 4 ER, 2.40 ERA) and held opposing batters to .211. Picked up a win (7-6) at nationally ranked Franklin Pierce, going seven innings (7K, 1 BB, 3 ER). Went eight innings (9K, 2 BB, 5 H, ER) in a no decision at Merrimack.
David Rappoli, Bryant (Jr., SP, Wilmington, MA) - Pitched a CG two-hitter in a 3-0 win over Southern N.H. After giving up hits in the first and second inning, retired the next 23 to close the game.
Adam Rourke, Bryant (Jr., 2B, Rowley, MA) - Hit .400 (5 RBI, 3 2B) in a 4-1 week. In game one of a DH with Southern N.H., went 4-for-4 (2 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, 2 SB).
Steve Gath, Bentley (So., SS, Reading, MA) - Hit .471 (8-17) with two doubles, five runs scored, slugged .588 and had a .571 on base percentage in a 2-3 week. Stole four bases, extended his hitting streak to seven and made only one error in the field. Was 5-for-12 in a three-game set with Pace.
Joe Herzog, Bentley (Fr., P, Cheshire, MA) - In his first career start, tossed a five-hit CG in a win (3-2) over Pace. Allowed only one earned run, walked two and struck out three. Also pitched a scoreless inning in relief at Babson. For the week, in 10 innings, allowed seven hits and three runs (2 ER) with a 1.80 ERA.
Daniel Fournier, Franklin Pierce (So., SP, Worcester, MA) - Struck out a career-best 13 against Saint Anselm for the second-straight outing and yielded an unearned run on three hits in 8.1 innings.
Patrick Wilson, UMass Lowell (So., 1B, Dracut, MA) - Hit .417 (10-24) with seven runs, six RBI, three doubles, a triple and a home run. Highlights included a 3-for-5 (3 R, 2 RBI, 2 2B, 3B) day in a win at Merrimack. Went 4-for-4 (3 RBI, 2 R, 2B, HR) in a win (10-2) at Southern N.H.
Nate Liebenow, UMass Lowell (Sr., OF, Hampton, NH) - Hit .400 (10-25) with eight runs, seven RBI, four doubles, a pair of walks and a triple in a 5-1 week. Went 2-for-5 (3 RBI, 2 R, 2B, 3B) in a win at Merrimack. Went 3 for 5 (4 RBI, 2 2B, R) in a win at Southern N.H. Went 3 for 5 (2R, 2B) in a loss (10-5) at Saint Rose.
David Qualben, Pace (So., SP, Bronx, NY) - In a win over Stonehill (2-1), allowed one unearned run on three hits while striking out 11 and walking two over nine innings.
Ryan Williams, Saint Anselm (So., SP, Lynnfield, MA) - Started two games (1-0 record) and pitched 18 innings. Allowed three runs on ten hits with three walks and 16 strikeouts. Opponents only hit .161 against him.
Tyler Call, Southern Connecticut (Sr., SS, Hopkinton, MA) - Hit .462 (12-26) in a 6-0 week. He had one double and seven RBI with a .483 on base percentage as leadoff hitter and stole two bases. Had three RBI in a win over Post and drove in at least one run in five of six games.
Joe Pagan, Southern Connecticut (Jr., C, Bridgeport, CT) - Hit .385 in a 6-0 week with a team-leading 13 RBI. Had three doubles and a .407 on-base percentage. Drove in five runs in two games against Merrimack and three in three games with AIC.

Northeast-10: In this week?s (top 10) NCBWA Northeast Regional Poll, Franklin Pierce is No. 1, Southern Connecticut is No. 2, UMass Lowell is No. 3, Pace and Bryant are tied at No. 4, Stonehill is No. 6, Saint Anselm is No. 9 and Saint Rose is No. 10 ? Southern Connecticut: In a 6-0 week, Southern pitchers allowed just six earned runs in 54 innings for a 1.00 earned run average. Junior lefthander Jeff Farrell had pitched 24 consecutive scoreless innings before AIC scored a run in Southern?s 10-1 win. Five pitchers with at least 16 innings pitched have an era at 1.83 or lower and Coach Tim Shea?s club has a team era of 2.07 ? UMass Lowell: Sophomore pitcher Peter Nickerson extended his scoreless streak to 27 2/3 innings, last allowing a run on Mar. 26 in the fourth inning of an 8-2 win at Bentley. With his eighth save of the season in Saturday?s 5-3 win over Saint Rose, sophomore Ronnie Nelson stands two saves shy of achieving the single season school record of nine set by David Ouellette in 2003. After striking out 13 in Thursday?s 10-2 win at Southern New Hampshire, senior pitcher Brad Laurin increased his career strikeout total to 248 and is approaching the school record of 265 set by Nate Linstad ? Franklin Pierce: The Ravens, ranked #29 in last week's Collegiate Baseball magazine poll, has won 12 of its last 15 games since a season-long three-game losing streak during their spring break trip last month. Franklin Pierce pitching has yielded just three earned runs over its last 29 innings of work (0.93 team ERA). Junior Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.) set a single-season record with a 19-game hitting streak before it was halted against Assumption on Thursday. Sophomore Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine) was hit by his seventh pitch of the season to match the program's career mark of 22 HBP in just a season and a half at the College. Olson had a career-best 18-game hitting streak halted in game one of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Saint Anselm, the came out and belted a leadoff triple and fell just a single shy of hitting for the cycle in the nightcap. Junior Bryan Duplissie (East Swanzey, N.H.) belted his Conference-leading eighth homer of the season on Thursday, then yielded just an earned run on five hits with a season-high 11 strikeouts in a complete-game victory on Friday. The earned run is the first of the season against him (0.34 ERA in 26.1 IP) as the run in the seven inning on Friday ended the streak at 23.1 innings ? Saint Anselm: Keith Beauregard (Leominster, Mass./ Leominster) broke the all-time school record for career singles this week with 139 in his career. He is also one double shy of tying the career record with 42 ? Bentley: Five of Bentley's last six games have taken under two hours to play, including all three games of the Pace series (1:51, 1:47, 1:58). In the three-game set with the Setters, a total of 12 runs were scored between the two teams. Sophomore SS Steve Gath (Reading, Mass.) has extended his hitting streak to seven games ? Assumption: Freshman pitcher Dan Sargent?s (Lowell, MA/Lowell) complete game shutout was the first for a Greyhound pitcher since 2001 when Eric Burnheimer pitched a complete game shutout of Findlay, Ohio. Junior first baseman Tyler Vivian (Ashland, MA/Ashland) went 4-for-4 with a run scored in the first of a three game set with Merrimack. Senior shortstop Andy Barlow (Milford, MA/Milford) went 3-for-4 with three doubles, an RBI, and a run scored in game two versus Merrimack ? Southern New Hampshire: Senior Chris Hart (Waterville, ME) became the program's all-time hit leader during a loss to American International last week. He recorded his 162nd career hit during the game, breaking Scott Bilodeau's previous record of 161. He has totaled 167 hits in 135 career games. Senior Ray Powers (Stoneham, MA) recorded his 100th career hit during the same loss to AIC and also moved into second place in career doubles during a loss to Bryant Sunday. He has totaled 33 career doubles and stands five shy of breaking the school-record for career doubles (37) currently held by Jeff Kramer ? American International: AIC equaled its win total from 2004 with a 1-0 win over Southern New Hampshire Wednesday.
