Players of the Week
David Stringham, Saint Rose (Sr., 1B, Schenectady, NY) - Hit .667 (6-9) with 10 RBI, two home runs, three runs scored and a double in a DH sweep of Saint Anselm. Was error-free in 28 chances. Went 3-for-4 (HR, 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R) in the opener. Went 3-for-5 (HR, 6 RBI, R) in the nightcap.
Tim Flynn, Stonehill (Sr., OF, Clifton Park, NY) - Hit .769 (10-13) with pair of doubles, triple, four runs scored, five RBI and a stolen base in a 2-1 week, including combined 8-for-9 effort (5 RBI) in two wins over Southern N.H. Also went 2-for-4 in a setback at Bentley. Slugged 1.077 and had a .786 on-base percentage. Added five putouts.
Pitcher of the Week
Ryan Fecteau, Saint Anselm (Sr., SP, Gilmanton, NH) - Tossed a two hit CG win (10-1) over Southern Connecticut allowing one unearned run. Walked two and struck out six.
Freshman of the Week
Joe Herzog, Bentley (Fr., P, Cheshire, MA) - In a six-hit CG win (6-2) at Bryant, struck out five, including four with runners in scoring position to end innings, and blanked the Bulldogs over the final seven innings.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Greg Genovese, AIC (Fr., 3B, Hingham, MA) - Hit .471 (8-17) with three RBI and four runs scored in a 2-2 week. Went a combined 5-9 (2 BRI, 4 R) in two wins over Merrimack.
Brian Quaglieri, Assumption (Fr., OF, Shrewsbury, MA) - Hit .500 (5-10, 4 R, 2B, 2 RBI, 6 TB) and slugged .600 to extend his hitting streak to nine games. In the two games series versus Mass.-Lowell, went 4-for-7 (.571, 2 RBI, 3 R), including 3-for-4 in game one.
Steve Gath, Bentley (So., SS, Reading, MA) In a 3-1 week, hit .556 (10-18) with five doubles, five runs scored and six RBI. Slugged .833 and had a .550 on base percentage. Extending his hitting streak to 11. Was 4-5 (2R, 2 RBI) in a win over Southern N.H. Had three hits (2R, 2 RBI) in a win at Bryant, and two hits and a game-ending sac-fly against Stonehill.
Daryle Crowley, Bryant (Jr., OF, Danvers, MA) - Hit .429 (6-14) in four games, with two runs scored and two RBI. Went 3-for-4 (2 RBI, 2B) in a win at Bentley. Went 2-for-3 (2B) at Southern Connecticut.
Shawn Hayes, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SS, Charlton, MA) - Hit .615 (8-13) with seven runs scored, a double, triple, three home runs, seven RBI and two steals in a 3-1 week. Slugged 1.538 and had a .688 on-base percentage. Extended his hitting streak to 12 games. Was a combined 5-for-7 (2B, HR, 2R, SB, 4 RBI) in series split with Pace. Hit 3-4 (2B, HR, 4 RBI) in an 11-1 road win. Was 2-3 (2 HR, 3R, 3 RBI, SB) in a win over AIC. Added a triple (2R) in a win over Bryant.
Bob Theriault, UMass Lowell (Jr., 3B, Lowell, MA) Hit .429 (6-14) with five RBI, four walks and two runs in a 2-3 week. Went 2-for-2 (3 RBI, 3 BB, 3B) in a win over Assumption. Went 2-for-4 (2B, RBI) in a loss to Assumption.
Jeff Ghiloni, Merrimack (Jr., SS, South Portland, ME) Hit .462 (6-13) with a double and seven RBI in a 0-3 week.
Mike Pahira, Pace (Jr., OF, Hombel, NY) - In five games, hit .533 (8-15) with four doubles, six RBI, and three runs scored. In a 7-1 win over UMass Lowell, was 2-for-2 (2B, 3 RBI, 2 R).
Keith Beauregard, Saint Anselm (Sr., OF, Leominster, MA) - In four games hit .357 (5-14) with four runs scored, two doubles, one triple, three RBI and a stolen base. Slugged .643 and had a .471 on base percentage.
Mel Davis, Southern Connecticut (Sr., 1B, Bristol, CT) - In a 2-1 week, hit .417 (5-12, 3 R, 2 2B, 7 RBI), slugged.583 and stole a base. Handled 17 chances at first and third base without an error.
Matt Hennessey, Southern Connecticut (Jr., SP, Wallingford, CT) - Pitched a CG, 1-0 shutout win at St. Anselm, allowing eight hits while walking one and striking out four. Extended his scoreless inning streak to 19.
Mike Bernard, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., 2B, Derry, NH) Hit.350 (7-20) with four extra base hits in a 2-3 week. Tied a career-high for hits in a game (4) in a win over AIC and was 3-for-4 (2-R HR) in a win over Merrimack.
Sean Lawrence, Stonehill (Jr., 1B, New Rochelle, NY) - Batted .467 (7-15) with double, triple, home run, five runs scored and four RBI in a 2-1 week. Became second player in school history to hit for the cycle in a 10-1 win over Southern N.H. and went 3-for-5 (2 RBI) in an 11-2 road triumph over Penmen. Slugged .867 and was error-free in 31 fielding chances.

Northeast-10: In this weeks (top 10) NCBWA Northeast Regional Poll, Southern Connecticut is No. 1, Franklin Pierce is No. 2, UMass Lowell is No. 3, Pace is No. 4, Stonehill is No. 5, Bryant is No. 6, and Saint Rose is No. 10 Southern Connecticut: Southern currently leads NCAA Division II with a team earned run average of 2.03 and have allowed just 33 earned runs since a season-opening three-game series against Armstrong Atlantic Franklin Pierce: Junior Bryan Duplissie (East Swanzey, N.H.) moved into a tie for seventh on the programs single-season home run list with a conference-high nine homers this season so far. Sophomore Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine) was hit by the 23rd pitch of his career (81 games) on Thursday at Pace, setting a new program record. Head Coach Jayson King is one win shy of 200 for his career, entering the week with a 199-176-1 career mark in nine seasons, including a 178-129-1 clip in seven seasons at Franklin Pierce UMass Lowell: Sophomore reliever Ronnie Nelson matched the single season record for saves with his ninth in a 12-10 victory over New Haven Stonehill: Junior 1B Sean Lawrence (New Rochelle, N.Y.) became the second player in Stonehill history to hit for the cycle in Tuesday's 10-1 win over Southern New Hampshire, joining Leo Bush, who accomplished the trick 10 years ago Bryant: Sunday's game at Franklin Pierce was Mickey Ryan's 180th game played, moving him into second all-time and trailing only BJ Gagnon's 200. His 11 career triples ranks third all-time Bentley: With his win over Southern New Hampshire Monday, senior RHP Tim Bryant (Reading, Mass.) moved into a tie for fourth in program career wins with 14 Southern New Hampshire: Senior Mike Bernard (Derry, NH) established a new program-record for career games played during the week. Bernard has played in 145 of a possible 146 games over his career, breaking the previous record for games played (142) set by Jason Longo from 1996-99. Bernard also moved into a tie for second in career hits during the week. He has totaled 161 hits and is currently tied with Scott Bilodeau for second on SNHU's all-time hit list. Senior Chris Hart (Waterville, ME) tops the list with 173. Senior Bill Forbes (Methuen, MA) has moved into 10th place in career strikeouts with 85 American International: AIC swept a season series from a Northeast-10 opponent for the first time since 2002 last week winning two from Merrimack. The last time the Yellow Jackets swept a conference opponent it took three games from Assumption in 2002. With its two wins last week, AIC has notched its most victories since 2002.
