Player of the Week

Garrett Olson, Franklin Pierce (So., 3B, Norway, ME) - Hit .381 (8-21, 5 R, 2B, 2 HR, 11 RBI), slugged .714 and was error-free in 15 chances in a 3-1 week. Matched two school records as he belted two home runs (6 RBI) in going 2-for-5 in win over Saint Rose. Was 3-5 (2 RBI) in win over AIC. Went 2-6 (2B, 3 RBI) in game one of a DH with Bryant.

Pitcher of the Week

Ryan Fecteau, Saint Anselm (Sr., SP, Gilmanton, NH) - Tossed a complete game no-hitter against AIC. He walked one and hit one while striking out 11.

Freshman of the Week

Nick Karthas, Merrimack (Fr., SP, Botwell, WA) - Threw a six hit CG shutout (1-0) over Bentley. He allowed one walk with two strikeouts. He also drove in the game's only run with an RBI single in the first.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Eric Boissy, AIC (Sr., 1B, Enfield, CT) - Hit .375 and hit safely in five of seven games in a 2-5 week. Went 5-8 (HR, 2 RBI) in a DH with Bentley.

Steve Gath, Bentley (So., SS, Reading, MA) - In a 4-2 week, hit .409 (9-22, 2B, 3 RBI, 4 R, 3 SB, 100th career hit) with a .491 on base percentage. Made only one error in the field. Went 4-for-5 Monday against Assumption.

Tim Bryant, Bentley (Sr., P, Reading, MA) - Was 2-0 with 13 strikeouts and no walks over 18 innings with a 1.00 ERA in two CG efforts (9-0 vs. Assumption, 6-2 vs. AIC). Pitched a nine-hitter over Assumption (5th career shutout - tying the school record). Also hit .308 (8-26, 2 2B, 3B, 4 RBI).

Adam Rourke, Bryant (Jr., 2B, Rowley, MA) - Hit .542 (13-24, 6 R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 3 SB) in a 3-3 week. Went 3-for-5 (2 RBI, 2 R) in a win over Assumption and had three hits (2B) in a 5-4 win over UMass Lowell. Was error-free in 33 chances (13 PO, 20 A).

Patrick Wilson, UMass Lowell (So., 1B, Dracut, MA) - Went 3-for-7 (2 BB, R, RBI), maintaining a nine-game hitting streak in a DH with Bryant. Went 2-for-4 (R) in a game one loss and 1-for-3 (BB, RBI) in a 2-1 win.

Matt Arburr, Pace (Fr., 3B, Bristol, CT) - Hit .357 (5-14, 2B, RBI, 3 R) in a 1-3 week. In a DH against Saint Rose, went 3-for-7 (2B, RBI, R)). Went 2-for-4 (2R) against Saint Anselm.

David Qualben, Pace (So., SP, Brooklyn, NY) - In two starts, went 1-0, with a 0.90 ERA. Allowed one earned run in 10 innings, striking out 10. Earned a win over Saint Rose, going eight innings (4H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K).

Ryan Williams, Saint Anselm (So., SP, Lynnfield, MA) - In his only start of the week, pitched a CG in a 3-2 win over Pace (1 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 5 K).

Josh Colafemina, Saint Rose (Sr., SS, Schenectady, NY) - Hit .562 (9-16, 8 R) in a 4-3 week and a .667 on-base percentage. Had multi-hit performances in three of five games. Was 8-of-9 in stolen base attempts. Was error-free in 34 chances at short and second base.

Anthony DiTroia, Saint Rose (Sr., OF, Queens, NY) - Hit .444 (12-27, 8 RBI, 3 SB). Had five multi-hit games including back-to-back three-hit outings in a DH sweep of Merrimack as he drove in five runs collectively.

Jeff Farrell, Southern Connecticut (Jr., SP, Naugatuck, CT) ? Tossed a one hitter (3 BB, 11 K) in a 1-0 win over Stonehill, facing just 30 batters. Allowed only a fifth-inning leadoff single.

Jon Babcock, Southern N.H. (Sr., OF, Auburn, NH) - Hit .625 (5-8, 3 2B) in a two game split with Saint Anselm. Went 3-for-4 (RBI) and scored the GW run in a 5-4 win.

Tim Flynn, Stonehill (Sr., OF, Clifton Park, NY) - Hit .385 (5-13, HR, 3 RBI, SB, A) and slugged .615 in 2-2 a week, including a GW home run and three RBI in 5-3 win over No. 25 Southern Connecticut.

Northeast-10: In the second NCAA Northeast Regional Poll (5/04), Southern Connecticut is No. 1, Franklin Pierce is No. 2, Adelphi is No. 3, UMass Lowell is No. 4, Concordia is No. 5, Stonehill is No. 6, Dowling is No. 7, and Bryant is No. 8 ? Southern Connecticut: With the regular season complete, the Owls? pitching staff has a combined 2.00 earned run average to lead NCAA Division II. Southern Connecticut last led NCAA Division II in ERA in 1967 with a 1.26 mark as the Owls? Rusty Brooder topped the nation with a 0.30 ERA in 61 innings pitched. All four of Southern?s regular starting pitchers this season have earned run averages under 2.00. Freshman righthander Justin Cox is 3-2 with a 0.73 ERA; junior lefthander Matt Hennessey is 6-2 with a 1.58 ERA; junior right Joe Vingo is 4-1 with a 1.64 ERA; and junior lefthander Jeff Farrell has a 1.93 ERA and a 6-0 record. Dan Stone, a freshman reliever who had a save this week, has also been solid with a 2-0 record and a 0.56 ERA ? Franklin Pierce: The Ravens, ranked No. 30 in last week's Collegiate Baseball magazine poll, has clinched a bye into the double-elimination final four of the NE-10 Championships this weekend for the third-straight year with a 3-1 week. Junior Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.) Conference-leading 17 doubles has matched the program's single-season record set by former teammate Eric Cavers in 2003. Chambers has also totaled 43 career doubles, just one shy of former teammate Dante Blancarte's career record of 44. Sophomore Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine) matched a pair of school records with his two home runs and six RBI in Thursday's win over Saint Rose ? Stonehill: Stonehill, ranked sixth in last week's NCAA Northeast Regional poll, has now qualified for the Northeast-10 tournament in each of Head Coach Patrick Boen's eight seasons at the helm. Freshman P Mat Lindenmayer (Penfield, N.Y.) picked up his first collegiate win in Thursday's triumph over 25th-ranked Southern Connecticut ? Bryant: Bryant entered the week ranked No. 8 in the latest NCAA Regional poll, the first time the Bulldogs have entered the poll this spring. The Bulldogs posted a 3-3 record this week and host UMass Lowell Monday in a makeup from Saturday's rainout. Mickey Ryan moved up to 2nd all-time with 190 games played and is currently third all-time in school history with 213 career hits ? Saint Anselm: Ryan Fecteau's no-hitter against AIC was the first no-hitter in Saint Anselm history. He only allowed two baserunners on a walk and a hit by pitch. John Lenkowski had a no-hitter through five innings in the second game of the doubleheader. In the Hawks' four wins this week their starters only allowed four runs, three earned, in 34 innings with six walks and 21 strikeouts ? Bentley: It was a milestone week for senior Tim Bryant (Reading, Mass.), who tied the school record for career shutouts (5), set a Bentley record for career innings pitched (251.1) and recorded his 100th career hit. Bryant posted a pair of complete game victories without issuing a walk, and now has walked only 3 in 79.2 innings this season. Also reaching the century mark in career hits were sophomore Steve Gath (Reading, Mass.) and junior Chad Mastin (Newmarket, N.H.). Junior RF GJ Vicente (Salem, N.H.) enters this week's action with 99 career hits. During the week, Bentley pitchers had a microscopic ERA of 1.02 ? Assumption: Assumption will host its final doubleheader of the season against Stonehill on Tuesday afternoon following Sunday?s postponement because of field conditions. Senior infielder Chris Colabello (Milford, MA/Milford) became just the 7th Greyhound to record 200 career hits last Tuesday at Bryant. Colabello had hits versus Bentley (2-for-4) and Bryant (1-for-3) to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. It is the second time in his career that he has had a hit streak of more than 15 games (had a 21-game streak in 2003) ? Southern New Hampshire: Senior Chris Hart (Waterville, ME) tied the school-record for hits in a season (54) this spring and closed out his career with a school-record 189 career hits. He posted a career batting average of .335, which ranks fifth among the program's all-time leaders. Senior Mike Bernard (Derry, NH) closed out his career ranked second to Hart in career hits (166) and third in career RBI (82) ? Merrimack: The Merrimack baseball team defeated Bentley 1-0 thanks to a complete game shutout by freshman Nick Karthas. The shutout was the first of the season for the Warriors, whose last shutout also came against Bentley on April 28, 2004 ? American International: AIC has notched its most overall and Conference victories since 2002. Thursday's win against UMass Lowell snapped an eight-game winless streak against the River Hawks dating back to 2002. Freshman Brett Cooley (Somers, Conn.) notched his first career victory Friday against Bentley.
