Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Week
Chris Bone, C.W. Post (Sr., WR, Inwood, N.Y.) - Racked up 245
all-purpose yards in the victory over Pace. Caught a game-high six
passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, added one kickoff return for
14 yards and eight punt returns for 120 yards.
Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week
Paul Polomski, Bryant (So., LB, Franklin, Mass.) - Led the defense
in the win over American International with six tackles, one fumble
recovery and two interceptions. Had a third quarter interception
and had a 44-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth
quarter.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Charles Gallagher, Southern Connecticut (Fr., K, Hartford, Conn.) -
Went 4-for-4 on extra points and connected on a 19-yard field goal
in the win over Bentley.
Weekly Honor Roll:
John Studley, Bentley (Jr., WR, Peabody, Mass.) - Caught 16 passes
for 152 yards, including 11 balls in the fourth quarter (for 94
yards), in the 31-24 loss to Southern Connecticut. Ten of his
receptions resulted in first downs.
Paul Tetzel, Bentley (Sr., FS, Millbury, Mass.) – Recorded 12
tackles, returned an interception 27 yards and averaged 28.3 yards
on three kickoff returns in the 31-24 loss to Southern
Connecticut.
John White, Bentley (Jr., QB, Kingston, Mass.) - In the 31-24 loss
to Southern Connecticut, completed 35 of 59 passes for 321 yards,
two touchdowns and one interception. In addition to throwing 59
passes, ran the ball 20 times (13 net yards with one touchdown) and
punted three times (36.3 average).
Maurice Baker, C.W. Post (Sr., DL, Hempstead, N.Y.) - Recorded two
tackles for loss, blocked one field goal, and recovered two fumbles
at Pace - including a 32-yard return for a touchdown as the defense
posted a shutout while limiting Pace to 103 yards of total
offense.
Andrew Kroell, C.W. Post (Jr., K, Baldwin, N.Y.) - Was 5-for-5 on
PAT kicks, and nailed two field goals at Pace. Including a 45-yard
boot, and two of his kickoffs went for touchbacks.
James Kuhlmeier, C.W. Post (So., DB, Bay Shore, N.Y.) - Picked off
two passes, broke up two passes and had two sacks among five solo
tackles at Pace.
Jaliem Cuttino, Southern Connecticut (Jr., DL, New Britain, Conn.)
- Tallied 10 tackles, including three for loss in the win over
Bentley. Also forced two fumbles and recorded 2.5 sacks.
Ty Marshall, Southern Connecticut (Jr., WR, Ellington, Ga.) -
Collected 153 receiving yards on five catches along with two
touchdown receptions in the win over Bentley.
Brandon Toles, Southern Connecticut (Sr., RB, Fort Washington, Md.)
- Rushed 21 times for 161 yards in a 31-24 win over Bentley.
Tallied 299 all-purpose yards in the contest.
Mike DeBye, Stonehill (Sr., LB, Burlington, Mass.) - Thwarted two
fourth quarter red zone possessions in the 20-14 win over
Assumption. On one fourth down, broke up a pass at the goal line
and then on the next possession, intercepted a pass on fourth down
as well, to seal the game. Added a team-high eight tackles and half
a sack.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: At least three records were set in
Bentley's 31-24 loss to 25th-ranked Southern Connecticut. The
Falcons ran 104 plays, seven more than the former standard, and
junior WR John Studley caught a school record 16 passes, besting
the record held by his offensive coordinator, Mark DeBrito, by one.
In addition, junior QB John White (Kingston, Mass.) was involved in
79 total plays, a New England Division II record as well as a
Bentley record.
C.W. POST: Junior place-kicker Andrew Kroell has
made 27 consecutive point-after kicks, including a 45-yard field
goal Saturday at Pace.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: With Brandon Toles 100-plus
yard performance against Bentley, the Owls now had a 100-yard
rusher in 17 consecutive outings.
