ASSUMPTION: Senior wide receiver Jake Beers
(Duxbury, Mass.) became the Greyhounds career leader in receptions
catching six for 91 yards versus Merrimack and now has 143 for his
career (143 catches-1,724 yards) surpassing Eric Mauer (1997-2000)
who caught 140 in his career. Beers has caught a pass in 21
straight games. With freshman running back Herb Woodard’s
75-yard touchdown run versus Merrimack, he is the only back in
Greyhound history to have more than one run of 70+ yards from
scrimmage. Accomplished just eight times in their history Woodard
has done it twice, also running 75 yards for a score against Saint
Anselm (9-15-07).
BENTLEY: A number of milestones were reached in
Bentley's win over Stonehill Saturday. Sophomore Tyler McNamara
(Medway, Mass.) broke the Northeast-10 single season field goal
record with his 11th, junior QB John White (Kingston, Mass.) became
the third player in school history to amass 5,000 yards in career
total offense, and senior Paul Tetzel became the first Falcon to
surpass 2,000 career return yards. Bentley forced five turnovers
against Stonehill, one more than the Skyhawks had in their first
six games combined.
BRYANT: The Bulldogs enter the week ranked No. 1 in the
region, Bryant’s highest ever regional ranking and No. 24 by
D2Football.com.
PACE: Senior linebacker Joe Streany recovered his fifth
fumble of the season against American International, setting the
school single-season record previously held by three players.
Senior punter Matt Cooney booted a 71-yard punt against American
International eclipsing the school record of 70 set by Bill
Mentekidis on November 4, 1995.
