Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Week

Brandon Toles, Southern Connecticut (Sr., RB, Washington, Md.) - Recorded 250 yards and five touchdowns on 26 carries in the win against Kutztown. Tied a program single-game record with five touchdowns in the contest. Amassed 347 all-purpose yards on the day (88 return, 9 receiving).

Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week

Joe Streany, Pace (Sr., LB, Croton, N.Y.) - Recorded 27 total tackles (11 solo), including 2.5 for losses of five yards, coming one tackle shy of the single-game school record. Also recovered a fumble on the four-yard line to set up Pace's first touchdown.

Weekly Honor Roll:


Justin Antone, Assumption (So., P, Dracut, Mass.) - Punted seven times for 287 yards (41.0 avg.), including a 60 yard punt that pinned Sacred Heart on their own 7-yard line.

Dave Canney, Assumption (So., WR, Templeton, MA) - Caught nine passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns versus Sacred Heart. Amassed 206 all-purpose yards.

Taylor Humphrey, Assumption (Jr., QB, Lafayette, Calif.) - Completed 23-of-41 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns against Sacred Heart. Had 307 yards of total offense.

Dustin Zitzmann, Assumption (So., LB, Pinellas Park, Fla.) - Recorded a game-high 15 tackles (5 solo) and a pass breakup against Sacred Heart.

Nick Georgetti, C.W. Post (Jr., QB, Holbrook, N.Y.) - Completed 21-of-32 passes for 250 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Also rushed 13 times for 32 yards against Bloomsburg.

William Boone, C.W. Post (Jr., DL, Staten Island, N.Y.) – Against Bloomsburg had four tackles that were behind the line of scrimmage, including 3.0 tackles for a loss (15 yds.) and 0.5 sacks (7 yds.).

Jonathan Jones, Pace (Jr., CB, Dover, N.H.) - Set a school record with four interceptions, including returning one 58 yards for a touchdown against Husson. Also recorded 11 tackles.

Steve Armstrong, Southern Connecticut (Jr., QB, Nutley, N.J.) – In the 52-30 win against Kutztown, completed 20-of-31 passes for 268 yards along with two touchdowns.

Chris Lorenti, Southern Connecticut (Jr., LB, Cromwell, Conn.) – Notched 12 tackles in the win over Kutztown. Also had one forced fumble, recovered two fumbles and broke up a pass.

Ty Marshall, Southern Connecticut (Jr., WR, Ellington, Ga.) – Had six catches for 141 yards and two touchdown receptions in the win over Kutztown. Had a 67-yard touchdown reception.

Weekly Notes:

PACE: Pace Jonathan Jones set a school single-game record with four interceptions against Husson College eclipsing the previous record of three, last done by Chris Anzano against Stonehill in 2006. Joe Streany's 27 total tackles fell one shy of the single-game school record, accomplished in 1993 by Brian Pirone against Mercyhurst.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: The Owls won a season opener for the first time since 2003 with the win over Kutztown on Saturday.
