Northeast-10 Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week

James Suozzo, Merrimack (Fr., QB, Everett, Mass.) - Making his first collegiate appearance, completed 21 of 42 passes and threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 59 yards and a score, in the 31-28 win over Pace.

Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week

Mike O’Brien, Merrimack (Sr., CB, Marlboro, Mass.) - Tallied two interceptions, including one on the final drive of the game, helping the team to a 31-28 win over Pace.


Weekly Honor Roll:

Mike Mayo, American International (Fr., RB, Roosevelt, N.Y.) - Had 30 carries for a season-high 196 yards and scored one touchdown in the 37-6 win at Saint Anselm.

Rich Reichert, American International (Jr., LB, Kings Park, N.Y.) - Recorded a team-best nine tackles, including six solo take downs, with two tackles for loss and a sack in the 37-6 victory over Saint Anselm.

Travis Poole, American International (Gr., WR, Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Had nine catches for 106 yards and scored two touchdowns in the 37-6 win at Saint Anselm. Had scoring catches of four and 14 yards.

Dominique Price, Assumption (So., WR, Worcester, Mass. - In a game against Bentley had six receptions for a total of 180 yards an average of 30 yards per catch, including a reception for 83 yards. Also scored two touchdowns.

Bryant Johnson, Bentley (So., QB, Hopedale, Mass.) - In two-and-a-half quarters of play, completed 17 of 30 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown while engineering Bentley’s come-from-behind win versus Assumption; led Falcons on scoring drives on four of seven possessions, excluding one ended by the halftime clock. Ten of his completions resulted in first downs or touchdowns.

Matt Zahoruiko, Bentley (Jr., LB, North Andover, Mass.) - Was in on a season-high 13 tackles in the 22-19 win over Assumption; ten of those came over the final three quarters when Bentley limited the Greyhounds to 70 yards, seven first downs and no points.

Eric Ortega, Pace (So., WR, Staten Island, N.Y.) - Had nine receptions for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Merrimack.

Cruz Parsons, Stonehill (Sr., QB, Signal Hill, Calif.) - In the 35-34 overtime loss at Iona was 23-of-40 for a career-high 312 yards and two touchdowns. Also accounted for 37 yards on the ground.

Weekly Notes:

AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: AIC's 37-6 win at Saint Anselm was the Yellow Jackets’ 11th in a row, a streak began with a 44-21 win over Merrimack on October 6, 2007, tying the school-record for consecutive victories that was set during the 1974-75 seasons.

BENTLEY: Bentley matched its biggest comeback victory of the last 13 seasons Friday night when it overcame a 19-0 first-quarter deficit to edge Assumption, 22-19. Bentley previously climbed out of a 19-point hole on Nov. 16, 2002 when it beat Stonehill, 41-26, after trailing 26-7.

STONEHILL:
In two games against Division I-AA (FCS) teams, Stonehill has equaled their offensive outputs, 48-48 but have been outscored by Northeast-10 competition 73-52. Cruz Parsons' 312 yards passing in the loss at Iona marked the first time a Stonehill quarterback has topped the mark since 1997. The overtime game against Iona was Stonehill's first extra session contest since 2002, a 20-14 loss to Pace.
