Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Week

Amadeus Guerrero-Pou, American International (Jr., RB, Westwood, Mass.) - Racked up a career-high 235 yards of total offense and had one touchdown in the 34-29 win at Merrimack. Carried the ball 39 times for 207 yards, both career-highs, and caught two passes for an additional 28 yards, including a 26-yard scoring reception.

Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week

Chris Martino, Assumption (Sr., FS, Lincroft, N.J.) - In the game against Southern Connecticut had a career high 19 tackles, nine solo and ten assisted. Also had two interceptions for a total of 123 return yards, including a pick that led to a 99 yard return for a touchdown. Totaled 157 all purpose yards which also included 34 yards on two kick returns and a long of 19 yards.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Brad Poirier, Bentley (Fr., CB, Marshfield, Mass.) - Seeing his first significant action of the season, made two interceptions, four tackles and a pass break-up in the 24-20 win over Pace. First pick led to a Falcon field goal and second came in the end zone, thwarting a Setter scoring bid.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Jashawn Williams, American International (Jr., DL, Roosevelt, N.Y.) - Had a game-high two touchdowns to go along with 1.5 tackles, three pass breakups and an interception in the 34-29 win at Merrimack. Returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and later returned a partially blocked punt 55 yards for what proved to be the game-winning score in the third quarter.

John White, Bentley (Sr., QB, Kingston, Mass.) - Engineered the fourth fourth-quarter comeback of his career in a 24-20 victory over Pace. Completed 26 of 46 for 277 yards and two touchdowns, and scrambled for 16 yards, including a first down on a third-and-three with three minutes left to help lock up the victory. Also averaged 38.8 yards on four punts, with a net of 35.2.

Andrew Jackson, Merrimack (Sr., DB, New Britain, Conn.) - Returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown and rushed for a 39 yard touchdown. Led the Warriors with four carries on 64 yards. Added six tackles defensively.

Nathaniel Ford, Pace (Jr., RB, Jamaica, N.Y.) - Rushed for 163 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns against Bentley. Averaged 6.3 yards per carry. Also had one reception out of the backfield.

Chris Bergeski, Southern Connecticut (Sr., WR, Mountainside, N.J.) - Matched career-highs in catches (9) and touchdown receptions (2), and also tallied 143 receiving yards in the win over Assumption.

Jarom Freeman, Southern Connecticut (Jr., RB, Peekskill, N.Y.) - Rushed for a game-high 140 yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown in the win over Assumption.

Chris Roberts, Southern Connecticut (Sr., QB, New Britain, Conn.) - Finished 22-of-38 for 244 yards and threw three touchdowns in the win over Assumption.

Cruz Parsons, Stonehill (Sr., QB, Signal Hill, Calif.) - Accounted for four touchdowns and 139 yards of offense in the 35-0 win over Saint Anselm. Was 10-of-12 for 102 yards and three touchdowns through the air and added 37 yards on the ground, including a 31 yard touchdown scamper.

Weekly Notes:

AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: With its 34-29 win at Merrimack, AIC extended one school-record winning streak, established another and won its first conference title since the 2000 season. The Yellow Jackets have now won 15 consecutive games dating back to last season and set the school-record for consecutive wins to open a season with nine, passing the previous mark of eight set in 1975. Sophomore QB Rob Parent (West Warwick, R.I.) set the school-record for passing touchdowns in a season with his 26th scoring pass Saturday. The win was also head coach Art Wilkins 95th career victory, each of which have come at American International.

ASSUMPTION: Chris Martino (Lincroft, N.J.) became the eighth Greyhound player to record 140-160--300 career tackles.

BENTLEY:
Bentley claimed its third fourth-quarter comeback of the season with its 24-20 win over Pace on Saturday. Senior John Studley (Peabody, Mass.) will enter this week’s game needing six catches to tie for second on Bentley’s single season list, and 90 yards for the sixth 1,000-yard receiving season in school history. He also needs only 13 yards to take over third on the career receiving list. Senior John White is 262 yards shy of 7,000 in career total offense. Junior Matt Zahoruiko (North Andover, Mass.) needs two tackles to become the first Falcon in eight years to reach the century mark.

MERRIMACK:
Preseason All-American Andrew Jackson became the first player in school history to score a touchdown offensively, defensively, and on special teams in a season. He also became the first player to return two punts and three total special team plays for touchdowns in a season. Freshman linebacker Tony Johnson set the school records for sacks in a season with 11 after getting three against American International on Saturday.

STONEHILL:
Cruz Parsons (Signal Hill, Calif.) has thrown for 1,517 yards through the first nine games this season, the sixth highest total in a single season in school history. His career total of 3,589 yards is the third best in school history. After his three passing touchdowns in the win over Saint Anselm he is tied for second on the school's all-time list of touchdown passes (38) with Mark Drake (1988-91). Tony Dello Iocono (1991-94) has 4,938 yards and 46 touchdowns. Sophomore Eddie Vachon (Newton, Mass.) has the eighth highest single season total of all-purpose yards (1,047) and Greg Sanzari (Centerport, N.Y.) has 91 tackles so far this season, putting him at 10 on the school's single season list.
