South Easton, Mass. – Assumption College and Saint Anselm College will face off on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Grappone Stadium in a Northeast-10 Conference match up for this week’s ‘PackCast’.

Live coverage begins at 1 p.m. as veteran broadcaster Eric Frede, who has appeared on NESN and Fox Sports New England, will provide the play-by-play, while Steve Zerdelian serves as color analyst. Fans can watch the live ‘PackCast’ free of charge by visiting www.northeast10.tv or by accessing the available link on www.northeast10.org, the official website of Northeast-10 athletics. Pack Network webcasts feature all the elements of traditional TV broadcasts, such as multiple camera angles, replays, commentary and more.

Assumption (4-2, 3-1 NE-10) enters the contest riding the momentum of a two game winning streak, including last week’s, 39-36, victory over Merrimack College. The win moved Assumption half-a-game behind the co-leaders in the NE-10, Bentley University and Southern Connecticut State University, who have a 4-1 conference record. Merrimack is also tied with Assumption with a 3-1 record in NE-10 play.

Junior Herb Woodard (Bridgton, N.J.), the Northeast-10 Player of the Week, rushed for a game-high 222 yards and scored a touchdown versus the Warriors. Woodard is now only 11 yards short of becoming the all-time leading rusher in Greyhounds history. He currently has 2,278 career-yards. Junior wide receiver David Canney (Templeton, Mass.) caught five passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns and now has 546 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Defensively, Assumption was led by senior Dustin Zitzmann (Pinellas Park, Fla.) who had a team-high 11 tackles. Zitzmann is second in the conference with 74 tackles and is now ranked third all-time in program history with 375 tackles.

Saint Anselm (2-4, 1-3 NE-10) is coming off its first bye week since the 2003 season. In their previous game, the Hawks fell short to American International College, 17-14, on the road. Saint Anselm’s offense is led by sophomore Marc Wilson (Farmington, Conn.) and freshman Michael Pierce (Andover, Mass.). Wilson leads the team in receptions (39), receiving yards (494) and touchdowns (5). Pierce has completed 51.5-percent of his passes this season and has thrown for 1,444 yards and 12 touchdowns, which ties him for second-best among quarterbacks in the conference. On defense, the Hawks are led by senior outside linebacker Dan Bohenek (Bridgewater, Mass.) who currently ranks 4th among the NE-10 leaders in tackles with 66.  Freshman Ethan Sylvain (East Montpelier, Vt.) is tied for second in the conference with four interceptions. He is also ranked in the top ten with 52 total tackles.

This will mark the 11th meeting all-time between these two schools with the series tied at 5-5. Assumption won last year’s meeting in Worcester, Mass., 16-7.

With 16 member institutions the Northeast-10 shares the distinction of being the largest Division II conference in the country along with the PSAC and WVIAC. Its 23 championship sports provide athletic opportunities for over 5,500 student-athletes, the largest such program of any Division II conference.
