Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Chelsea Kimball, Saint Michael's (Sr., F, North Berwick, Maine) -
In a 3-0 week, scored a goal in each game including an overtime
game-winner versus American International. Added an assist in the
4-3-overtime win over Franklin Pierce.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Alyssa Sliney, Bentley (So., GK, Brewster, Mass.) - Posted a 0.50
goals against average and a .923 save percentage in a pair of
conference wins. Had 10 saves in a 3-1 win over Assumption, and two
en route to a shutout against American International.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Sammy Macy, UMass Lowell (Fr., F, Tewksbury, Mass.) - Recorded six
points and four assists in a 2-0 week. Posted a goal and three
assists, including the final two tallies in the win at American
International. Picked up an assist on the team’s third
straight goal at Assumption.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kundayi Mawema, Bryant (So., GK, Hare, Zimbawe) – In a 2-0
week, allowed just two goals and tallied 14 saves. Had four saves
in a 3-2 win over Southern Connecticut and came up with 14 saves in
earning a 1-0 win at Stonehill.
Emily Morrissey, Franklin Pierce (Fr., F, Hubbardston, Mass.) -
Recorded three goals and an assist in two games last week. Recorded
a hat trick with a trio of second-half tallies against Saint
Michael's, and then added an assist against Southern
Connecticut.
Katie Enaire, UMass Lowell (Fr., F, Amesbury, Mass.) - Recorded a
goal in wins over American International and Assumption.
Jaci Moulton, UMass Lowell (So., F, Baldwinville, Mass.) –
Scored four goals for eight points in a 2-0 week. Scored two goals
in the win at American International and netted two more goals in a
win at Assumption.
Jayne Vagenas, UMass Lowell (Sr., D, Harwich, Mass.) - Scored a
goal and added two assists in the 5-0 win at Assumption. Part of a
defensive unit that allowed just eight shots (four on goal) and
posted consecutive shutouts at American International and
Assumption.
Karrie Muma, Saint Anselm (So., F, N. Falmouth, Mass.) - Finished
with two goals in a 1-1 week. Scored a goal in an overtime loss to
Stonehill. Also scored to tie the game at Merrimack before the
Hawks eventually won, 2-1.
Brittany O’Brien, Saint Michael's (Sr., F, Stowe, Vt.) - In a
3-0 week, scored two goals including an overtime game-winner in a
4-3 victory over Franklin Pierce.
Andrea Slaven, Saint Michael's (Jr., F, Danvers, Mass.) - Scored
three goals in a 3-0 week, including two in a 4-3 overtime win over
Franklin Pierce. Scored in a 2-0 win over Merrimack.
Jordan Smalling, Saint Michael's (Jr., GK, Essex Jct., Vt.) -
Recorded three consecutive wins, making seven total saves and
posting one shut out in a 2-0 win over Merrimack.
Kim Merritt, Southern Connecticut (Fr., F, Norwalk, Conn.) - Scored
two goals, including the game-winning marker, and an assist in the
4-3 win over Franklin Pierce.
Jackie Ladino, Stonehill (So., North Darmouth, Mass. ) - Had a goal
and an assist in a 1-2 week. Scored the game-winning goal in the
2-1 overtime win over Saint Anselm and added an assist in a 2-1
loss at C.W. Post.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Bentley’s seven-game winning streak
is its longest since the Falcons won 19 straight in 2004.
FRANKLIN PIERCE: With two goals on Saturday, grad student
Mary Beth Huszar set a new single-season scoring record at Franklin
Pierce with 25 points, breaking the previous mark set in 2000 by
two players.
SAINT MICHAEL’S: After three straight wins
this past week, Coach Carla Hesler recorded her 100th win at Saint
Michael's with a 2-1 overtime decision over Merrimack. With a
record of 100-67 over nine seasons, Hesler is second all-time for
wins in program history. Hesler's overall record as a head coach at
Colgate, Yale and Saint Michael's now stands at 199-176-8.
