Northeast-10 Golfer and Freshman of the Week

Tyler Johnson, Assumption (Fr., Holden, MA) - Averaged a 79.5 in two events last week. Shot a 77 at the Worcester State Invitational and an 82 at the Lou Flumere Invitational.

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

Greg Lahue, Assumption (Sr., Westford, MA) - Shot a 75 at the Worcester State Invitational.

Steve Balchunas, Franklin Pierce (Fr., Brockton, MA) - Posted a team-best 80.5 stroke average over two rounds in two midweek events for the Ravens last week. Led Franklin Pierce to a fifth place finish (out of 15 teams) with a round of 77 at the Worcester State Invitational on Tuesday. Carded an 84 at the Lou Flumere Invitational on Wednesday.

Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

NCAA DIVISION II GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP: Four Northeast-10 Golf teams have been selected to compete in the Northeast/East Super Regional, at Speidel Golf Club in Wheeling, West Virginia. Bryant (2), Southern New Hampshire (4), Pace (6) and Le Moyne (8) round out the eight team field. The top team from each region within the super regional and the top individual not with a team from each super region (regardless of region) will advance to the finals May 16-19 at the Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia. The finals will be hosted by Concord University and the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Ten additional teams will earn berths to the finals. These teams will be determined based on the previous three-year average of top-10 finishes of a super regional at the finals.. FRANKLIN PIERCE: Franklin Pierce placed fifth out of 15 teams that competed at the Worcester State College Invitational on Tuesday. The Ravens host their spring invitational on Wednesday.
