Northeast-10 Golfer of the Week

Dan McCarthy, Le Moyne (Jr., Syracuse, NY) - Won his third consecutive tournament, then finished third in another. McCarthy shot an even-par 72 to tie for the top spot, then won a four-hole playoff to capture Le Moyne's Mike Bello Invitational. He carded a three-under 143 at the Dowling September Shootout to grab third place among individuals.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Tyler Johnson, Assumption (Fr., Holden, MA) - Shot a 155, including a 77 in the final round, at the Dowling Invitational, where he finished as the top Northeast-10 freshman participant.

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

Matt Freedman, Bentley (Jr., Sudbury, MA) - Was 20th overall and ninth amongst Northeast-10 golfers at the Dowling Fall Shootout after shooting 74-80-154. His first-round one-over 74 was a career-best.

Brenden Smith, Bryant (Sr., North Attleboro, MA) - Helped lead the Bryant to a first-place finish at the Dowling Shootout with a two-day total of 145. Opened the tourney with a round of 71 and closed with a 74 as Bryant captured its first tourney win of the fall season.

Jim O'Connell, Bryant (Sr., Troy, NY) - Tied for sixth at the Dowling Shootout with a two-day score of 146. Opened with a 70 on the first day and finished even for the round with a 146.

Tom Thiesing, UMass Lowell (Fr., Grafton, MA) - Was among the top freshmen at the Dowling Shootout with a 160 (80-80).

Mike Duffy, Saint Michael's (Sr., Yarmouthport, MA) - Shot an 81-79 -- 160 to tie for 60th place at the 22nd Annual Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury during the weekend.

Sam Natti, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., Lisbon, NH) - Led SNHU to a fourth place showing at the Dowling Shootout, as he placed 11th out of 74 golfers with a three-over-par 149. Shot an even par 73 during second round action.

Bentley: Junior Matt Freedman (Sudbury, Mass.) carded a career-best one-over 74 in the opening round of the Dowling Fall Shootout Sunday. Bentley finished ninth of 15 in the tournament, and fourth amongst seven NE-10 teams?Bryant: Bryant captured its first tournament title of the fall season with a win at the Dowling Shootout. The Bulldogs edged St. Thomas Aquinas by four strokes, 588 to 592 to capture the title. Brenden Smith (North Attleboro, MA) was Bryant's top finisher, finishing in fifth-place overall with a two-day score of 145?Le Moyne: The Dolphins finished eighth at the Dowling Shootout. Le Moyne hosts the Northeast-10 Conference Championship September 24-25...Southern New Hampshire: The Penmen opened their 2005 season by placing fourth out of 15 schools at the Dowling Shootout. SNHU placed three golfers in the Top-20 at the event and posted the third-best team score (303) during second round action.
