Bentley: 'Burke Named Golf Coach at Bentley University'

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Marty Burke has been named the men’s
varsity golf coach at Bentley University, athletics director Bob
DeFelice announced today.
Burke, 37, comes to Bentley after two years as head coach at MIT.
His collegiate coaching resume also includes four years (2002-06)
at MIT as an assistant to his brother Jim (now the head coach at
Harvard).
Burke, in addition to his coaching activities, is a Territory Sales
Manager for the Golf Pride division of the Eaton Corporation,
covering the northeastern United States and Canada. He has been
involved with The First Tee of Massachusetts, serving as an
instructor for ten years. Burke also enjoys coaching hockey, power
skating and learn-to-skate during the winter.
A 1994 graduate of the University of Connecticut where he majored
in sociology, Burke was a member of the Huskies’ golf and
hockey teams.
The Newton native now resides in Canton with his wife, Liana, and
their 15-month-old twin sons, Ben and Owen.
Bentley, the Northeast-10 playoff champion in both 2006 and 2007,
will open its season at the Trinity College Fall Invitational Sept.
12 and 13.
