Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Chris O'Brien, Saint Anselm (So., F, Watertown, MA) - Scored two goals and added three assists in a pair of wins.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Jason Rafuse, Saint Anselm (Jr., G, Nepean, Ontario) - Made 57 saves in a pair of wins, including 32 stops in a shutout victory over Connecticut College.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Brendan O'Brien, Stonehill (Fr., F, Braintree, MA) - Recorded five assists for five points in 1-1 week, including three assists in 8-6 win over Johnson & Wales and two assists in 6-3 setback at Curry.
Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll
Mike Rust, Assumption (So., F, Swanzey, NH) - Notched three points in a 1-1 week. Scored two goals versus Western New England and an unassisted goal versus Southern New Hampshire.
Matt Clemente, Franklin Pierce (Sr., F, Middletown, NJ) - Notched two goals and one assist. Scored both goals in a loss to Nichols.
Josh Hechter, Saint Anselm (Jr., F, Winnipeg, Manitoba) - Notched a goal and four assists in two games.
Jonathan Perez, Saint Michael's (Sr., D, Los Angeles, CA) - Forced overtime with a goal late in the third period against Amherst, and was credited with an assist against Hamilton.
Martin Stehl, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., G, Goldbar, WA) - Stopped 73 of 75 shots (97% save percentage) in a 1-0-1 week. Made 37 saves in a 1-1 OT tie with Nichols and stopped 36 shots in a win over Assumption.
Brian Dudley, Stonehill (Sr., F, Waltham, MA) - Netted a pair of goals and added two assists for four points in a 8-6 victory over Johnson & Wales.
Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:
SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Penmen snapped a four-game winless streak (0-2-2) following a 4-1 win at Assumption Saturday. The Penmen extend their home unbeaten streak to nine games (7-0-2) following a 1-1 OT tie with Nichols Wednesday, and will look to extend that streak Wednesday when they host Stonehill in their only action of the week. Four of Southern New Hampshire's nine games have gone to overtime and the Penmen are 1-0-3 in those games. Senior GK Martin Stehl (Goldbar, WA) has limited the opposition to one goal of less in three of his four starts this season. He made a season-high 37 saves in the OT tie with Nichols STONEHILL: After dropping its first six outings with Johnson & Wales dating back to 1998, Stonehill has won two of its last three meetings with the Wildcats after netting a season-high eight goals on Saturday evening. Senior F Brian Dudley (Waltham, MA) and freshman F Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, MA) have combined for 19 points in the last four games for the Skyhawks and have assisted on 68 percent of Stonehill's goals this season (17 assists on 25 goals). Senior Billy Petrucci (East Bridgewater, MA) became the first Skyhawk netminder to play an entire game this season, as he made 27 saves to pick up the triumph over Johnson & Wales. Petrucci and juniors Matt Gorman (Southboro, MA) and Josh Green (Mendon, MA) had each played one period in each of Stonehill's first seven contests SAINT MICHAEL'S: The Purple Knights, who have never defeated Hamilton College, lost 8-4 on Friday night to the Continentals. The team then played Amherst who, going into Saturday's contest, held a 4-0 advantage in the all-time series. Trailing 2-1 late in the game, senior co-captain Jonathan Perez (Los Angeles, CA) scored on a one-timing pass from Jared Silver to force overtime, before the game ultimately ended in a tieASSUMPTION: Assumption will finish its 1st semester play this week with three games (two away, one home), two of which are conference games. Freshman goalie David Pinkham (Malden, MA/Arlington Catholic) made 43 saves last Saturday night versus Southern New Hampshire. Sophomore forward Jim Trahon (Needham, MA/Salisbury School) had a goal and two assists last Tuesday night versus Western New England. He is currently the leading scorer in the Northeast-10 and in Division II, tallying a league-high nine goals and 14 points.
