Bentley Claims Top Seed In Upcoming

South Easton, Mass. – The Falcons of Bentley College secured
the top seed in the 2007-2008 Northeast-10 Men’s Basketball
Championship, presented by Spalding.
Bentley, the number one ranked team in Division II, has claimed
its fourth straight Northeast-10 regular season title and seventh
overall, while finishing the season undefeated for the second
straight year at 27-0. The Falcons are the only team in NE-10
history to win four straight regular season titles.
Last season’s tournament runner-up, The College of Saint
Rose (21-6, 18-4 NE-10) received the second seed in this
year’s tournament followed by Assumption College (20-8, 14-7
NE-10). Pace University (14-13, 13-9 NE-10) received the fourth
seed. All four teams earn first-round byes in the tournament. First
round action begins Saturday, March 1 with four contests. The
winners move on to the quarterfinal round on Monday, March 3.
First round games include #12 American International College
(10-17, 7-15, NE-10) at #5 Stonehill College (16-13, 12-10 NE-10),
#11 UMass Lowell (11-16, 8-14 NE-10) at #6 Merrimack College
(17-10, 12-10 NE-10), #10 Southern New Hampshire University (12-15,
9-13 NE-10) at #7 Bryant University (16-11, 12-10 NE-10) and #9
Saint Anselm College (13-13, 11-11 NE-10) at #8 Le Moyne College
(14-13, 12-10 NE-10). All games are scheduled to tip-off at 2
p.m.
Quarterfinal match-ups will feature the winner of American
International/Stonehill traveling to Pace, the winner of UMass
Lowell/Merrimack visiting Assumption, the Southern New
Hampshire/Bryant winner will play at Saint Rose and the winner of
Saint Anselm/Le Moyne will be at Bentley. All quarterfinal contests
are set for 7 p.m. with the exception of the American
International/Stonehill versus Pace match-up which is slated for a
7:30 p.m. start.
The semifinal round will take place at the higher seeds on
Thursday March 6 at 7 p.m. The championship is slated for Saturday,
March 8 at 1 p.m. at the highest remaining seed.
Northeast-10 Tournament contests can be seen over the internet on
pay-per-view basis on NE10.TV for a fee of $6.99. Check the

Sponsoring 23 championship sports and 15 full-time members, the
Northeast-10 is the second largest NCAA Division II athletic
conference in the nation and sponsors the most championships of any
