Northeast-10 Player of the Week

James Sorrentine, Saint Michael's (Sr., G, Pawtucket, R.I.) - Averaged 26.5 points per game in two wins over UMass Lowell, 72-64, and Pace, 93-86, on the week. Also averaged 5 assists and shot 13-13 from the free throw line and 10-22 from beyond the arc.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Tom Dowling, Bentley (Fr., G, Rockville Centre, N.Y.) - In a 2-0 week, came off the bench to average 15.5 points on 67 percent shooting. Also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals while playing 18 minutes a game.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Colson Senat, American International (Jr., F, Montreal, P.Q.) - Averaged 12.5 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week. Scored 11 points with six rebounds and two assists in a win over Saint Rose and netted 14 points with 12 rebounds and three assists at Pace.

Aikeem Vanderhorst, American International (So., F, Bay Side, N.Y.) - Averaged 19 points and eight rebounds in a 1-1 week. Scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a win over Saint Rose and netted 24 points with eight boards and three assists at Pace.

Corey Diethorn, Assumption (Sr., C, Pittsburgh, Pa.) - Averaged 15.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and four blocks in a 2-0 week. Scored 20 points (6-8 FG, 8-10 FT), and had 16 rebounds (7 off.) and five blocks in a win over Franklin Pierce. Had 11 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in a win over Saint Anselm.

Pat Shea, Assumption (Jr., G, Salem, Mass.) - Averaged 11.0 points, seven rebounds, and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week. Had 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists in a win over Franklin Pierce. Had an all-around game in a win over Saint Anselm with nine points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

Jason Westrol, Bentley (So., G, Brielle, N.J.) - Averaged 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, four assists and two steals as Bentley beat Southern Connecticut and UMass-Lowell. Had a 16 points, six rebounds and two steals at Southern, and 11 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals against Lowell.

Jon Ezeokoli, Bryant (Sr., G, South Orange, N.J.) - Averaged 21 points per game and 4.5 rebounds in two games this past week. Had 26 points plus a pair of assists and two steals in a win over Franklin Pierce and had 16 points and five boards against Saint Anselm.

Jason Holmes, Le Moyne (Sr., G, Mamaroneck, N.Y.) - Averaged 18.5 points per game in a 0-2 week. Netted 17 points and four rebounds in a loss to Saint Rose. Scored 20 points and contributed with five rebounds, three assists and two steals in a loss to Southern New Hampshire.

Micky Burtnyk, Merrimack (Sr., G, Phoenix, Ariz.) - Posted 17 points, seven assists and six steals in the 98-95 overtime victory over Dowling.

Darin Mency, Merrimack (Fr., G, Hagerstown, MD) - Scored 20 points and six rebounds in the 98-95 overtime victory over Dowling.

Ryan Williams, Pace (Sr., G, Centreville, Va.) - Averaged 22.5 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 1-1 week. Shot 53.8% from the field and 69.2% from beyond the three-point line. In a win over American International, tallied 24 points and two assists. Against Saint Michael's, totaled 21 points, five boards, two assists and three steals.

Brian Monahan, Saint Michael's (Sr., F, Kinderhook, N.Y.) - Averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in two wins over UMass Lowell (72-64) and Pace (93-86).

Steve Dagostino, Saint Rose (Sr., G, Schenectady, N.Y.) - Averaged 16.7 points and seven assists in a 2-1 week. Shot 43.3 percent from the floor and went 22-for-24 from the line. In a winversus Le Moyne, finished with 17 points to go with five assists. In the win over UPR-Rio Piedras, registered 24 points, eight assists and three steals. In a loss at American International, scored nine points, while recording eight assists and three steals.

Evan Lane, Saint Rose (Jr., F, Sharon Springs, N.Y.) - Averaged 13.7 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.7 blocks in a 2-1 week, while shooting 54.1 percent from the floor. In a win versus Le Moyne recorded 17 points and 16 rebounds, and four blocks. Had 10 rebounds, four points and four blocks in a victory over UPR-Rio Piedras. Scored 20 points, had nine rebounds and three blocks in a loss to American International.

Sam Carey, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., C, Manchester, N.H.) - Averaged 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while shooting 61.9% from the floor in a 1-1 week. Was 8-10 from the floor and finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a win at Le Moyne. Totaled 13 points and seven boards in a loss to Stonehill.

Gerald Carter, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., F, Harlem, N.Y.) - Averaged 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week. Finished with 15 points and six rebounds against Le Moyne.


Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: With its win over UMass-Lowell, Bentley broke its own Northeast-10 record for consecutive regular season conference wins. It was their 25th straight, one more than the Falcons amassed from Feb. 7, 2004 to Feb. 8, 2005. Bentley has also won 31 consecutive regular season games and 19 in a row at home.
