Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Ancil Farrier, Southern Connecticut (Jr., D, Los Bajos, Trinidad) -
Selected as Most Valuable Player in the Northeast-10 Tournament.
Scored the only goal of the game on a 34th-minute penalty kick in
the 1-0 semifinal win at UMass Lowell. Provided strong backline
defense for a team which surrendered only one goal over three
tournament games.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Brendan Lawless, Southern Connecticut (So., GK, Orleans, Mass.) -
Surrendered one goal while facing 16 shots over two games on the
week. Posted a six-save shutout in the semifinal win at UMass
Lowell. Over the course of the three games of the conference
tournament, allowed only one goal while making eight saves.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Brandin McClay, Southern Connecticut (Fr., M, East Taunton, Mass.)
- Scored the game-winning goal in the Northeast-10 Championship
game to give the Owls a 2-1 lead over Merrimack with just 1:22
remaining.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Tiago Dalboni, Merrimack (Jr., F, Medford, Mass.) - Scored the
game-winning tally in the 1-0 overtime win over Franklin Pierce in
the Northeast-10 Semifinals.
Colin Jackson, Southern Connecticut (Sr., F, Hartford, Conn.) -
Figured in on both of the team’s goals with one goal and one
assist in the Northeast-10 Championship against Merrimack.
Weekly Notes:
FRANKLIN PIERCE: The Ravens make their
fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 13th in program
history. The Ravens will serve as host of the New England Regional
for the third-straight year. Franklin Pierce captured regional
titles in 1991, 2004 & 2005.
MERRIMACK: The Warriors appeared in their first conference
championship match since 1999.
