Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Matt Grabala, Stonehill (Sr., No.1 Singles/No. 2 Doubles, Bristol,
CT) - Posted a combined 8-0 mark at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles
in a 4-0 week. Had three straight-set singles triumphs in wins at
Southern New Hampshire (9-0), Franklin Pierce (9-0) and Saint
Michael's (8-1).
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Mike Mashkevich, Stonehill (Fr., No. 2 Singles/No. 2 Doubles,
Framingham, MA) - Notched an 8-0 combined mark at No. 2 singles and
No. 2 doubles in a 4-0 week. Had four straight set singles triumphs
in wins over Southern New Hampshire (9-0), Franklin Pierce (9-0),
Saint Michael's (8-1) and Pace (9-0).
Weekly Honor Roll:
Jared Dorfman, Assumption (So., No. 3 Singles, Providence, RI) -
Won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and teamed with Dave Marshall to win
8-1 at No. 2 doubles in a match win versus Franklin Pierce.
Dave Marshall, Assumption (Sr., No. 4 Singles, Newington, CT) - Won
6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 Singles and teamed with Jared Dorfman to win 8-1
at No. 2 doubles in a match win versus Franklin Pierce.
Matt Stopp, Assumption (Sr., No. 2 singles, Altoona, PA) - Won 6-0,
6-0 at No. 2 singles and teamed with Antonio Recalde to win 8-0 at
No. 1 doubles in a match win versus Franklin Pierce.
Antonio Recalde, Assumption (Jr., No. 1 Singles, Ciudad del Este,
Paraguay) - Won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Matt
Stopp to win 8-0 at No. 1 doubles in a match win versus Franklin
Pierce.
Mike McCrillis, Bentley (Sr., No. 4/3 Singles, No. 3/2 Doubles,
Kennebunkport, ME) - Won four matches this past week, winning
singles and doubles matches against Bryant and Southern New
Hampshire.
Brian Reilly, Merrimack (Sr., Bronxville, NY) - Won both of his
singles matches and both of his doubles matches in a 2-0 week.
Posted wins over Franklin Pierce and Le Moyne at No. 5 singles and
at No. 3 doubles, partnered with Steve Viglione.
Paul Kosinski, Pace (Sr., No. 1 Singles/No. 2 Doubles, Staten
Island, NY) - In a 2-1 week, won at No.1 singles and No. 2 doubles
against American International and Saint Anselm.
Ryan Garrette, Saint Anselm (Fr., No. 1, Conway, NH) - Broke a 4-4
deadlock with a 6-1, 6-4 victory from the No. 1 spot to give Saint
Anselm the victory, beating American International 5-4. Also won a
doubles match with Chris Darnowski, 8-4.
Pedro DePaula, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., No. 1 Singles / No. 1
Doubles, Rolandia, Brazil) - Posted a 2-1 record at No. 1 singles
and a 1-2 mark at No. 1 doubles this pas week. Earned a 4-6, 6-3,
10-8 win at No. 1 singles against Bentley and recorded two points
in a win over American International.
Jason Allegretti, Stonehill (So., No. 3 Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Lincoln, RI) - Posted an 8-0 combined mark at No. 3 singles and No.
1 doubles in 4-0 week. Had straight set singles triumphs in wins
over Southern New Hampshire (9-0), Franklin Pierce (9-0), Saint
Michael's (8-1) and Pace (9-0).
Will Herchel, Stonehill (So., No. 5 singles/No. 1 doubles, Hampden,
MA) - Notched an 8-0 combined mark at No. 5 singles and No. 1
doubles in a 4-0 week. Had straight set singles wins in triumphs
over Southern New Hampshire (9-0), Franklin Pierce (9-0), Saint
Michael's (8-1) and Pace (9-0).
Mike Leone, Stonehill (Fr., No. 4 Singles/No. 3 Doubles, Cataumet,
MA) - Posted a 7-1 combined mark in singles and doubles play in 4-0
week. Had four doubles triumphs in wins over Southern New Hampshire
(9-0), Franklin Pierce (9-0), Saint Michael's (8-1) and Pace
(9-0).
Weekly Notes:
STONEHILL: The Skyhawks, winners of nine straight
overall, reached double digits in the win column for the second
straight season and for the third time in four years with Sunday's
victory over Pace.
