Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Austin Gardella, Franklin Pierce (Sr., No. 1 Singles/ Doubles, Norwalk, Conn.) - Won seven of eight matches last week, winning all four first-doubles contests and going 3-1 at first singles. Finished with a pair of wins in the team’s 6-3 victory over Saint Anselm, posting an 8-4 first-doubles win and taking a 6-1, 6-3 decision at first singles.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Cristian Balestrieri, Bryant (Fr., No.1 Singles/Doubles, Mar Del Plata, Argentina) - Went 2-0 at No. 1 in a pair of wins last week and posted two wins in singles play. Had a 6-0, 6-0 win over Queens and followed with an 8-4 win over Southern New Hampshire.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kevin Gardiner, Bryant (So., No. 5 Singles, Powder Springs, Ga.) - Earned the decisive win in singles play in three sets over Queens to give the team a 5-4 win. Dropped the first game 7-5, but battled back to win 7-6 (7-5) and 1-0 (10-6) in the third.

Thomas Pickin, Saint Anselm (So., No. 5 Singles, Newport, R.I.) - In an 0-3 week, went 2-0 at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Southern New Hampshire and an 8-6 win over Merrimack.

John Lescure, Saint Michael's (Jr., No. 1 Singles/No. 2 Doubles, Kennebunk, Maine) - In a 5-1 win over Franklin Pierce, registered a 6-3, 6-3 No. 1 singles win and 8-2 No. 2 doubles win. Later in the week, led the team to an 8-1 win over Pace with a No. 1 singles win (6-0, 6-1) and No. 2 doubles win (8-5).

Weekly Notes:

BRYANT: Bryant enters the week ranked No. 3 in the East Region by the NCAA and ranked nationally for the first time in school history, coming in at No. 45 by the ITA.
