Top Seeds Advance to Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Championship Final

Top-seeded Merrimack College and second-seeded Bentley University advanced to the Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Championship Final Saturday afternoon with semifinal wins earlier today.

#1 Merrimack 5, #4 Stonehill 0

North Andover, Mass. - Top-seeded Merrimack knocked off fourth-seeded Stonehill 5-0 earlier today at North Andover high School to advance to the Northeast-10 Championship, which they will host Saturday at 1 p.m.

Merrimack won all three doubles matches en route to the sweep.  Max Eppley, pictured, clinched the win for the Warriors as he defeated Nick Hyzak from Stonehill at #2 Singles, 6-1, 6-4.

On Saturday, the Warriors will look to claim their first-ever Northeast-10 Championship title.

 

#2 Bentley 5, #3 So. New Hampshire 4

Waltham, Mass. - Andrew Waddington won the deciding sixth-flight singles match to give second-seeded Bentley a 5-4 victory over third-seeded So. New Hampshire in the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Championship.

With the win, Bentley advances to the Northeast-10 Champiosnship on Saturday searching for their third straight NE-10 Title in the sport.  Waddington dropped the first set 6-2, but went on to a 6-1 second set win, and a 6-3 win in the third set to send the Falcons to the title.
