Six Northeast-10 Programs Selected to Compete in NCAA Tennis Championships

South Easton, Mass. – Both the men's and women's NCAA Division II Tennis Championship Selection Shows took place on Tuesday evening, with six Northeast-10 Conference programs receiving bids to compete for a national championship.

Among the men's selections, Merrimack College (17-7) received the fourth seed in the East Region after earning an automatic bid as this year's Northeast-10 Champions. The Warriors, who will be making their fifth straight NCAA appearance, will serve as one of two regional hosts with action taking place at North Andover High School.

Merrimack draws fifth-seeded Bentley University (15-6), which is appearing in its fourth straight NCAA Tournament, on Sunday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. The winner will advance to take on top-seeded Concordia (17-7) on Monday, April 30 at 10:00 a.m.

Southern New Hampshire University (11-9) received the seventh seed and will serve as the other host for the opening two rounds of the East Region bracket. The Penmen, who are making their second straight NCAA appearance, will square off against second-seeded Queens (N.Y.) (18-3) on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at The Derryfield School in Manchester, N.H.

That contest will follow an 8:30 a.m. start between third-seeded District of Columbia (16-4) and No. 6 NYIT (11-1) in Manchester, as the winners of both first-round matches will advance to play each other on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

On the women's side, So. New Hampshire (18-5) received the No. 2 seed in the East Region and will take on seventh-seeded Chestnut Hill (19-6) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at The Derryfield School in Manchester.

The Penmen enter NCAA play as an automatic bid after claiming their third straight Northeast-10 Championship this past weekend.

Sixth-seeded Adelphi University (16-4) will also travel to Manchester for the East Regional, taking on third-seeded District of Columbia (15-3) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Stonehill College (15-5) will serve as the other East Region host on the campus of Stonehill as the No. 5 seed, and will take on fourth-seeded Concordia (N.Y.) (10-1) on Monday at 11:00 a.m. The winner will take on top-seeded Queens (N.Y.) (17-1) on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
