South Easton, Mass. ? The Northeast-10 regular season champion Bulldogs of Bryant University (23-5 NE-10, 25-15 overall) are the top seed and hosts for the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference Softball Championship, presented by Diamond Sports.
UMass Lowell (21-7, 31-18) is the second seed in the tournament as it swept Southern Connecticut today with scores of 1-0 and 4-1. As a result, the #3 seed will be Southern New Hampshire University (20-8, 21-19).
The final three seeds were already set prior to today's contests. Le Moyne College (19-9, 27-17) will enter the tournament as the #4 seed, Assumption College (19-9, 30-18) is the #5 seed and Southern Connecticut (15-11-2, 21-22-3) will be the #6 seed.
The double elimination tournament will begin on Friday, May 5 at 12:00 Noon at both Bryant University and Brown University. The playoffs will continue on Saturday, May 6 with the championship game slated for Sunday, May 7 at Bryant.
