Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Casey Brooks, Saint Michael's (Jr., 2B, Colchester, VT) - Batted .500 (10-20) with six runs and three RBI in a 2-4 week. Went 3-for-3 (3 R, 2B, BB) w versus Slippery Rock and 2-for-4 (2 R, 2 RBI) against Bloomfield. Added a 2-for-4 (R) performance with a run versus West Chester.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Diane Morrison, Bentley (So., SP, Massapequa, NY) - In three starts, did not allow an earned run in 20 innings and posted a 2-1 record. Pitched back-to-back shutouts versus Bloomfield (5 hits) and North Dakota (7 hits) before dropping a 1-0 decision to Post. Walked only two and struck out five.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Brittany Gandley, Southern Connecticut (Fr., OF, Holbrook, NY) - In six games, had a .438 average (7-16). Slugged two homeruns and drove in six runs for an .813 slugging percentage.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Alex Hitchcock, Bentley (Fr., SS, Abington, MA) - In a 2-4 week, hit .444 (8-18) with one run scored and one RBI. Had three multi-hit games with three versus Edinboro and two against Bloomfield and Minnesota State-Moorhead.
Amanda Gagne, Bryant (Jr., SS, Wilbraham, MA) - Went 8-for-21 (.381) last week, scored five runs and added three RBI. Had a 1-for-3 showing against Tampa including a homerun.
Amanda Wilbur, Bryant (Jr., OF, Lakeville, MA) - Went 10-for-20 scoring two runs and knocking in six. Had two homeruns, a triple, and a double. Had a 3-for-5 showing against Hillsdale.
Stephanie Howard, Franklin Pierce (Fr., OF, Norwalk, CT) - Went 2-for-2 with a single, double and scored two runs versus Bowdoin.
Courtney Jacobs, Franklin Pierce (Fr., SP, Fitchburg, MA) - Threw a complete game three hitter, allowing only one earned run, walking four and striking out three.
Lindsay Knapp, Franklin Pierce (So., SP, Elmira, NY) - Fired a seven inning complete game, scattering six hits and allowing zero earned runs while striking out three batters. She also contributed with a single and two RBI in the second game.
Sarah Reed, Le Moyne (So., SP, DeWitt, NY) - Struck out a career-high 13 batters and scattered five hits in a 4-0 win over Dowling.
Martha Senko, Le Moyne (Jr., SP, Pine City, NY) – Pitched a complete game, a 5-2 win over Dowling, and struck out eight. Allowed seven hits and two runs (one earned) without walking a batter.
Jennifer Winters, Le Moyne (Sr., SS, Vestal, NY) - Went 3-for-7 (.429) with one home run, two runs scored and three RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Dowling.
Julie Brodie , UMass Lowell (So., C, Chelmsford, MA) - Was 3-for-4 at the plate and scored the lone run in a 2-1 (9 inn.) loss against Southwest Minnesota State. Also accounted for three of the five hits in the game. Against St. Xavier, was 2-for-2 with two runs scored in a 2-1 win. Reached base at least once in seven contests.
Kristen Mahoney, UMass Lowell (Jr., SP, Burlington, MA) - Posted a 3-2 record at the Rebel Game. Won games against California (PA) (2-1, 8 innings), St. Xavier (2-1) and threw a 2-0 shutout against Indiana (PA). Struck out 10 batters in both the California game and in a 2-1 loss to Tiffin University. At the plate, was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI in the St. Xavier game.
Megan O'Connor, Saint Michael's (Fr., SP, Georgetown, MA) - Went 1-2 with a 2.44 ERA and seven strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched in a 2-4 week, and batted .388 (7-19) with four runs. Pitched 5.1 innings to earn the win and went 2-4 with two runs versus Bloomfield, and allowed just two earned runs in a complete game loss at nationally-ranked Florida Gulf Coast. Went 3-4 with two RBI versus West Chester.

LE MOYNE: Sarah Reed's 13 strikeouts in the 4-0 win over Dowling are a personal-best and the most by a Le Moyne pitcher since Megan Vecchiano struck out 13 in a 2-1 9-inning loss to Wayne (Neb.) State on May 9, 2003… SAINT MICHAEL'S: The Purple Knights went 4-8 on their spring break trip to Fort Myers, Fla., including 4-6 at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. Sophomore Casey Brooks (Colchester, Vt.) led Saint Michael's with a .452 batting average (19-42), and tied the career program record with her eight triple versus Wilmington. She also moved into second in program history in stolen bases (currently has 28, 15 behind Beth Murray '04). Junior Meggan Roberge (Sheldon Springs, Vt.) threw her 400th collegiate inning at Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, and with 401.2 career innings pitched, is just one behind the program's all-time leader, Kara McManus '02… SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: Freshman outfielder Brittany Gandley is off to a quick start for the Owls in Florida, batting .438 through the first six games. Gandley, who also plays volleyball, has seven hits in 16 at bats with seven runs scored and six runs batted in. She has six homers, 13 total bases and a .813 slugging percentage with two stolen bases. Junior Emily Atkinson is tied for the team lead in rbis with six and has a .353 average while outfielder Courtney Miniter is hitting .385 and freshman shortstop Kierstin Pry .353 for Coach Lisa Barbaro's team… BENTLEY: The first two victories of the Michele DeGregorio era at Bentley were both shutouts by sophomore Diane Morrison (Massapequa, N.Y.), in consecutive games against Bloomfield and North Dakota. It was the first time since 2002 that the Falcons have recorded back-to-back shutout wins. Morrison, in her final four starts in Florida, had a 0.26 ERA and had a stretch of 19.1 consecutive scoreless innings. Freshman SS Alex Hitchcock (Abington, Mass.) hit .400 during the 10-game trip.
