Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Kortney Meadows, Le Moyne ( So., OF, Orchard Park, NY) - Hit .545 (6-11) in a 3-1 week. Scored five runs, doubled, homered and knocked in five runs. Slugged .909 and posted a .643 on base average. Went 4-for-7 with a three-run home run in a doubleheader sweep of Pace.

Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week

Janine Enos, Bryant (So., SP, Wareham, MA) - Started two games and appeared in another this week compiling a 0.53 ERA and had two wins. Threw 13.1 innings allowing only one earned run while striking out 11. Pitched a complete game four-hitter against AIC and struck out four.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Kate Thomas, Bryant (Fr., DH, Bedford, NH) - Hit .579 (11-19) in six games this week driving in six runs and also scoring six runs. Also had a triple and a stolen base. Went 2-for-3 in game two against Stonehill and knocked in three runs. Went 6-for-7 in two games against Saint Anselm.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kellie Brown, American International (Fr., OF, Gill, MA) - Batted .385 in four games last week with two home runs and five runs batted in. Had a three-run home run that lifted AIC to a 4-3 win over Bryant.

Amanda Monge, Assumption (So., SS, Reading, MA) - Batted .474 (9-19, 4 2B, 3 RS, 3 RBI), slugged .684 (13 TB), and went errorless in 38 chances in a 4-2 week. Went 3-for-4 (2B, RS, RBI) in game 2 at Bentley. Combined to go 3-for-7 (2 2B, 2 RBI) in the doubleheader versus Dowling and 3-for-6 (2B, 2 RS) in two games with New York Tech.

Caitlin Stazinski, Assumption (Jr., SP, Westboro, MA) - Went 2-0 in 12.0 inning pitched with seven strikeouts and just six hits allowed and held opposing batters to .150 from the plate. Pitched a complete game shutout victory over New York Tech (2 H, 2 Ks) and pitched five innings (4 R, 2 ER, 5 Ks, 4 H) to record a win at Bentley.

Alex Hitchcock, Bentley (Fr., SS, Abington, MA) - Hit .409 (9-22) and slugged .727 with five runs scored, five RBI, three triples and one double. Had two triples in the second game of a doubleheader against Molloy.

Amanda Gagne, Bryant (Jr., SS, Wilbraham, MA) - Hit .474 (9-19) in six games with five RBI and seven runs scored. Also had two doubles and two homeruns. Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored against Stonehill.

Jordan Dargon, Bryant (Sr., C, Trumbull, CT) - Went 8-20 (.400) scoring five runs and driving in eight. Also had two home runs.

Jessica Valentini, Bryant (So., 3B, Cliffside Park, NJ) - Hit .579 (11-19) with six runs scored and two batted in. Had six doubles including three in a 4-4 performance at the plate in game one against Stonehill.

Linsday Knapp, Franklin Pierce (So., SP, Elmira, NY) - Notched two wins, including a 3-1 complete game victory over New York Tech. Tossed seven innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four. Against Dowling College, tossed a complete game shutout, allowing only one hit while striking out three. At the plate, recorded seven hits, including a double and home run, five RBI, and two runs scored.

Jennifer Winters, Le Moyne (Sr., SS, Vestal, NY) - Hit .500 (5-10) with one home run, three runs scored and six runs batted in. Went 3-for-7 with six RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Pace.

Stacey Lajoie, UMass Lowell (Fr., SS, Gardner, MA) - Batted .455 with a slugging percentage of .727 in a 3-1 week. Went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run scored in a 6-2 win over Franklin Pierce.

Kristen Mahoney, UMass Lowell (Jr., SP, Burlington, MA) - Maintained a 1.17 ERA in a 2-0 week on the mound. Gave up just three hits in an 8-0 shutout performance against Franklin Pierce, striking out seven in the process. Struck out four and gave up two earned runs in a 4-2 victory over Post University.

Kiryl Shada, Pace (Fr., SP, Pleasant Prairie, WI) – Pitched a one-hitter complete game (no hits through first six innings) against Saint Rose and posted a 2-1 record with a 2.25 ERA overall this week. Struck out 17 over 18.2 innings and held opponents to just 10 hits. At the plate, was 3-for-9 with one run scored. Against Dowling, allowed one earned run and scattered three hits in the complete game win while also striking out nine.

Monica Savarese, Southern Connecticut (Fr., OF, Orange, CT) - Hit .417 (5-12, 2 2B, 2R, 2 RBI) on the week. Went 2-for-2 while scoring the winning run in the 4-2 win over Bentley.

Felicia Brum, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., C, Braintree, MA) - Recorded three multiple-hit games and batted .615 (8-13) in a 3-1 week. Went a combined 5-for-5 (2B, HR, 2R, 2 RBI) in a doubleheader sweep of Merrimack. Went 3-for-8 (2 RBI) in a split with Saint Michael's.

Caitlin Flanagan, Stonehill (So., C, Cornwall, NY) - Batted .462 (6-13) with two doubles, two RBI and five runs scored in a 3-2-1 week, including three hits in a 7-3 triumph at American International. Posted .615 slugging percentage and .632 on-base percentage for week.

Weekly Notes:

LE MOYNE: Junior All-America OF Lindsay Spaziani went 3-for-11 with one home run and two doubles in her first action of 2006. The Dolphins ran their winning streak to nine straight with a doubleheader sweep and a win over Southern Conn. in the first game of a doubleheader. The Owls clipped Le Moyne in the nightcap, moving Le Moyne's home mark to 58-6 at home over the past four seasons. Three of those losses were in last season's post-season tournaments. The last regular season conference home loss for Le Moyne came in a 6-0 loss to UMass Lowell on April 12, 2005… SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Penmen had a five-game winning streak snapped and suffered their first league loss of the year (5-1) following a 5-4 (10 inn.) loss at Saint Michael's Sunday. Junior Felicia Brum (Braintree, MA) is batting .476 (10-21) in SNHU's six conference games thus far. Junior pitcher Ashley Smith (Franklin, NH) is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA up north, while freshman pitcher Ashley Bernstein (Stoughton, MA) is 2-1 with a 0.74 ERA up north… STONEHILL: Stonehill, 8-2-1 in its last 11 games since March 8th and off to its best start in five years, posted its first-ever doubleheader sweep of American International with a pair of wins on Sunday in Springfield. The Skyhawks had split five previous twinbills with the Yellow Jackets but had never completed the sweep...Stonehill has already hit double-digits in the win column through 18 games after posting 13 triumphs all of last spring...Senior 1B Christine Grenache (Leominster, Mass.) hit the longest home run in the history of Gartland Field with a 270-foot blast in a 5-3 win over Franklin Pierce, while freshmen Katie Mottau (Woonsocket, R.I.) and Yesenia Marrero (Brockton, Mass.) collected their first collegiate round-trippers against Franklin Pierce and American International, respectively...Sophomore P Danielle Mason (Salisbury, Mass.) has collected 60 percent of Stonehill's win total to date with a 6-2 mark on the mound… ASSUMPTION: Assumption began a stretch of 13 straight games at home last Saturday against Dowling. The Greyhounds will play six doubleheaders in two weeks mixed in with a single game with Southern Connecticut on Wednesday (rain forced the postponement of game 2 on April 1st). Senior third base Tania Palumbo (Worcester, MA/Holy Name) hit .500 (6-for-12, 2 HR, 2 2B, 4 RS, 6 RBI) and slugged 1.167 (14 TB) in four games last week. Sophomore catcher/designated player Korina Salafia (Leominster, MA/Leominster) had a team-high 7 RBIs last week, thanks to two 3 RBI games (Bentley, New York Tech). Senior pitcher Shalynn Napolitano (Lawrence, MA/Fellowship Christian) pitched a complete game shutout of New York Tech in game one, allowing just two hits and striking out five. Junior pitcher Caitlin Stazinski (Westboro, MA/Westboro) has not allowed an earned run in each of her game two appearances this season (14.1 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 9 Ks, 3-0 record).. AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: Freshman Kellie Brown (Gill, Mass.) has hit safely in her last seven games, going .391 (9-23) with two home runs and six runs batted in over that span… SAINT MICHAEL'S: Of the eight NE-10 games the Purple Knights have played this season, seven have been decided by one run (SMC is 3-4 in those contests). Junior Casey Brooks (Colchester, Vt.) has scored nearly a third of the team's runs this season (20 of 62). She already has the fourth highest single-season run total in program history, and is just 10 shy of her all-time record of 30 runs set last season. Brooks also has 109 hits for her career, just 11 shy of the all-time record of 120 set by Noelle Gill '05. Brooks and senior Meagan Newland (East Burke, Vt.) each belted their seventh career home runs last week, and are tied for third in program history in that department… BENTLEY: Bentley freshman Alex Hitchcock (Abington, Mass.) broke the school record for longest hitting streak, tying the record of 13 that had lasted since 1991 during the first game of Sunday's doubleheader and extending it to 14 in the nightcap. Also during the second game, she tied the school record for triples in a game with two.
