Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Kristen DesLaurie, Le Moyne (Sr., C, Liverpool, NY) - Hit .533 in a
4-0 week. Collected eight hits, three doubles, four home runs and
drove in 14 runs. In game one of a double header against Bentley,
blasted three three-run homeruns, while going 4-for-5, with 10
RBI.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Kristen Mahoney, UMass Lowell (Sr., SP, Burlington, MA) - Went 2-1
with an ERA of 1.40, compiled 21 strikeouts opposed to four earned
runs and five walks in victories over Bentley (7-2) and Saint
Anselm (5-2) and a loss to C.W. Post (6-3). Against Bentley,
allowed four hits, one walk and no earned runs while fanning eight.
Yielded four hits, two unearned runs and a walk while striking out
seven in the win over Saint Anselm. Capped the week scattering
seven hits, six runs (four earned) and three walks while striking
out six in a 6-3 loss to C.W. Post.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Kelly Scheikert, Le Moyne (Fr., SS, Rochester, NY) – Hit .636
(7-11) in a 4-0 week. Drove in three runs, scored five runs, hit
two doubles and blasted one home run.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Teresa Bonavita, American International (Jr., 1B, Agawam, MA) -
Batted .385 with 11 RBI in a 3-5 week. Went a combined 4-for-7 with
four doubles and eight RBI in a doubleheader sweep over Saint
Rose.
Elizabeth Mucica, Assumption (So., SP, Tewksbury, MA) - In three
complete game starts last week, had an ERA of 0.34 with 10 strike
outs, two walks, and one earned run. In game one versus Saint
Michael’s, struck out three allowing an unearned run and four
hits. Against Stonehill, struck out five with a walk, five hits,
and an earned run.
Amanda Wilbur, Bryant (Sr., OF, Lakeville, MA) – In a 4-2
week, had a .571 batting average. Hit three homeruns, drove in
eight RBI and recorded 26 total bases. Had a slugging percentage of
1.238 and scored seven runs. Also played a perfect center field and
recorded an outfield assist.
Laurie Tanguay, UMass Lowell (Sr., 3B, Lowell, MA) - Batted .435
(10 for 23) and slugged .739 with nine RBI, six runs and two home
runs in a 4-2 week. Batted 2-for-4 in five of the six games,
highlighted with three RBI and three runs in a 7-2, 9-3 sweep over
Bentley; three runs and five RBI in a 5-2, 8-5 sweep over Saint
Anselm; and one RBI in the 6-3 loss to C.W. Post.
Courtney Garner, Merrimack (Fr., OF, Bellefonte, PA) - Hit .545 in
a 4-2 week. Had six hits in 11 at-bats and pitched one inning in
two appearances, collecting a save with a 0.00 ERA.
Dana Jo Ketchel, Pace (Jr., 2B, Staten Island, NY) - Batted .500
(11-for-22) with two doubles, two homeruns, seven RBI and seven
runs in a 3-3 week. In a doubleheader against Southern Connecticut,
went 4-for-7 with a homer, a double, two runs scored and two RBI.
In a twin bill sweep over American International, collected four
hits in six at-bats, scoring a run and driving in a run. In a
double dip split with Saint Anselm, went 3-for-9 with four RBI,
four runs scored, a double and a homerun.
Meg O'Connor, Saint Michael's (So., SP, Georgetown, MA) - Went 2-0
with a 0.73 earned run average, allowing one run in 12.1 innings
pitched and striking out 10. Threw a three-hit shutout and struck
out eight in the 5-0 win in game two against Franklin Pierce and
went 2-for-3 at the plate. Recorded a second win during the week,
throwing 5.1 innings in the 5-1 victory versus Assumption.
Meggan Roberge, Saint Michael's (Sr., SP, Sheldon Springs, VT) -
Pitched all 10 innings in the 6-3 loss to Franklin Pierce, giving
up five earned runs and fanning 15 batters. Against Assumption,
pitched a shutout, allowing just three hits and striking out seven.
Added two RBI doubles in the doubleheader against Franklin
Pierce.
Emily Atkinson, Southern Connecticut (Sr., C, Novato, CA) - While
batting .500, blasted a grand slam in the win over Pace. Recorded
eight hits, including three doubles and six runs. Recorded 17
putouts and four assists while committing no errors in a 4-0
week.
Karissa Bettencourt, Southern New Hampshire (So., SS, Norton, MA) -
Batted .571 (12-21) with four doubles, one home run, four RBI and
nine runs in a 5-1 week. Went 4-for-5 with three RBI in a sweep of
Bentley, 4-for-8 with four runs in a sweep of American
International and 4-for-8 with three doubles in a split with
Bryant. Posted a .905 slugging percentage and went 3-for-3 in
stolen bases.
Felicia Brum, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., C, Braintree, MA) -
Batted .450 (9-20) with two doubles, two triples, seven RBI and
eight runs in a 5-1 week. Drove in four runs during a sweep of
Bentley, scored five runs during a sweep of American International
and went 4-for-6 during a split with Bryant.
Ashley Smith, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., SP, Franklin, NH) -
Appeared in three of six games (17 IP) and posted a 2-1 record, 16
strikeouts and a 1.24 ERA. Tossed a five-hit shutout with seven
strike outs in a 3-0 win over Bentley, fanned seven in four innings
of relief in a win over American International and pitched six
innings, while surrendering one run and scattered six hits in a 3-2
loss to Bryant.
Jaime Ippolito, Stonehill (Jr., OF, Chelsea, MA) - Batted .389
(7-18) with three doubles, a homer and six RBI in a 4-2 week. Hit a
three-run homer and recorded four RBI in a 16-0 win at Assumption
and had a pair of hits and two RBI in 3-0 win over Franklin
Pierce.
Katie Mottau, Stonehill (So., SP, Woonsocket, RI) - Posted a 2-0
mark with a 1.88 ERA in a 4-2 week. Pitched a one-hit shutout with
five strikeouts in 16-0 victory at Assumption. Pitched a three-hit
shutout and fanned six in a 8-0 victory over Franklin Pierce,
holding opponents to .182 average for the week. Batted .500 (4-8)
with a triple, a three-run homer and four RBI while posting a 1.125
slugging percentage.
Courtney Young, Stonehill (So., C, Danvers, MA) - Batted .421
(8-19) with three doubles, two homers and five RBI in a 4-2 week.
Had a pair of homers and three RBI in doubleheader sweep of
Franklin Pierce. Went 3-for-3 and drove in a pair in a 12-7 setback
to Bryant and added a pair of hits in a 16-0 win at Assumption
while posting a .895 slugging percentage for the week.

SAINT MICHAEL’S: Seventh-year head coach
Robyn Newton earned her 100th victory on Saturday in game two of a
doubleheader versus Assumption, a 5-1 win. She has 100 of the 167
wins in program history. At 16-4, Saint Michael’s is off to
the best 20-game start in program history. Senior Casey Brooks
(Colchester, Vt.) scored her 100th career run in a 5-0 win versus
Franklin Pierce in game two on Wednesday, the first player in
program history to reach that milestone. SOUTHERN NEW
HAMPSHIRE: Senior Felicia Brum (Braintree, MA) became
Southern New Hampshire’s leader in career hits during the
week. She had nine hits in six games last week and has now totaled
141 hits over her four-year career. The previous record of 137 hits
was set last spring by Nikki Cote. Senior Tara Moriarty (Randolph,
MA) became the seventh player in program history to total 100
career hits...she reached the milestone during a sweep of American
International Friday and has totled 101 hits over her four-year
career.
