New Haven's Harold Selected to Capital One Academic All-District Team

West Haven, Conn. – University of New Haven senior student-athlete Chelsea Harold was named to the Capital One Academic All-District College Division Softball Second Team, announced Monday by sports information directors around the nation. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) honors student-athletes who have achieved a 3.3 GPA and who have excelled on the athletic fields as well.
Harold, recently named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team, led the Chargers to another NCAA Tournament bid this season. She posted a .441 batting average with 50 runs scored and 14 RBI. She also recorded three doubles, two triples, two homeruns, 32 stolen bases, an on-base-percentage of .454 and a slugging percentage of .514. She ranked first in the league in runs scored and hits (79) and finished second in batting average and stolen bases.
The Chargers will kick off the NCAA East Region Tournament on Friday, May 13 at the host site and No. 2 seed, C.W. Post. The game time against the Pioneers is set for 1 p.m. at the C.W. Post Softball Complex in Brookville, N.Y.
