2008 Daktronics Softball All-Region Team Announced
The 2008 Daktronics Softball Northeast All-Region Teams were announced earlier this week. Northeast-10 student-athletes were well represented as three student-athletes were named to the Northeast All-Region First-Team including UMass Lowell's Jachael Guanci, Pace's Christina Pane and Southern Connecticut's Megan Caporossi. Four NE-10 student-athletes selected to the Second-Team including Bryant's Janine Enos, UMass Lowell's Laurie Tanguay, Saint Rose's Tracy Chesebrough and Stonehill's Courtney Young.

Northeast-10 Names Softball All Academic Teams
The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2008 Softball All Academic Teams. The Northeast-10 All Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.

Northeast-10 Softball Weekly Report For Contests Through April 13, 2008
UMass Lowell's Laurie Tanguay batted .630 (17-27) and slugged 1.000 with 12 RBI, 10 runs, three doubles, two triples and a home run in a 6-2 week. Tanguay went 3-3 with four-RBI, three-run effort in a 10-0 win at Saint Michael's. She also went 4-4 with three runs in a 10-4 win over Saint Anselm; and 3-4 with one run and one RBI in a 7-5 win over Adelphi. Drove in five runs in the sweep of Stonehill.

Northeast-10 Softball Weekly Report For Contests Through April 6, 2008
In a 4-0 weekend, Le Moyne's Jennifer Farrelly hit .545 with four homeruns, one double and eight RBI. Farrelly collected 19 total bases and slugged 1.727. Additionally, she collected two wins in the circle, allowing one unearned run through eight innings striking out seven.

In Michelle Franey's four years at Abington High, there wasn't a position she didn't play for the softball team. Coach Steve Kingman had no problem moving Franey wherever he needed her, from the outfield to second base to catcher.

Boston Globe: 'By All Accounts, She's A Softball Player'
Briana Kneeland was just about sure she had hung up her cleats for good when she left Winthrop High. The anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction had pretty much taken her off the field. She missed her senior soccer and softball seasons.

Northeast-10 Softball Weekly Report For Contests Through March 23, 2008
Pace's Christina Pane batted .500 (15-for-30) with 11 runs scored, seven RBI, four triples and was 3-for-3 in stolen bases. In a two game sweep over St. Augustine's, Pane went 3-for-6 with four runs scored, three RBI and a triple. Against Mt. Olive, she went 2-for-6 in two games.

Northeast-10 Softball Weekly Report For Contests Through March 16, 2008
American International's Kellie Brown batted .500 (9-18) with 10 RBI, eight runs scored, four doubles, one triple and two home runs this past week. Brown went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs scored, two doubles and a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth in the 11-1 win over Queens and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored a triple and a two-run walk-off bomb in the bottom of the eighth in a 5-3 win over Ferris State.

Judy Groff, the only softball coach American International College has ever had, was inducted last night into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.
