Northeast-10 Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week

Matt Kavanagh, Saint Rose (Sr., Newburgh, NY) - Was first in the 200 free (1:45.11) and the 100 fly (52.92) at Queens. Also anchored the winning 200 medley relay team (1:53.99). Against Adelphi, posted two NCAA "B" Cut times. Won the 50 free in 21.08 and touched first in the 100 free in 46.25. Was also the anchor of the winning 400 free relay team (3:18.33).

Northeast-10 Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week

Arden Brust, Bentley (So., Newark, NY) - Won five events and finished second in another. Was a triple-winner against Keene State, earning the maximum points in the 200 medley relay (4:16.43), 200 backstroke (2:19.00) and 200 free (2:02.50). Against Babson, was first in the 200 individual medley (2:18.56) and 100 back (1:03.52), and second in the 400 medley relay (4:16.31).

Northeast-10 Men's Diving Athlete of the Week

Kyle Reese, Bentley (So., Hamden, CT) - Swept both diving events in a win over Keene State, with scores of 253.15 on the one-meter and 254.30 on the three-meter. In a victory at Babson, posted a winning score of 237.85 on the one-meter and was third on the three-meter (132.30).

Northeast-10 Women's Diving Athlete of the Week

Ali Bronson, Southern Connecticut (So., Torrington, CT) - Swept the diving events for the week. After winning the one-meter competition in wins over Queens and St. Rose, she came back to place first on the one-meter board (231.85) and the three-meter board (223.70) in a dual meet loss to West Chester.

Northeast-10 Men's Freshman of the Week

Ricky Chidsey, Le Moyne (Fr., Liverpool, NY) - Won two individual events and teamed for a relay win in Le Moyne's 134.5-102.5 loss at RIT. Won the 200 IM in 2:00.40 and the 100 back in 53.71. Opened the 200 medley relay with a 25.35 as Le Moyne won with a time of 1:41.27.

Northeast-10 Women's Freshman of the Week

Kristen Thuerk, Bentley (Fr., Cheshire, CT) - Was a triple-winner in a win over Keene State, capturing the 200 medley relay (4:16.43), 1000 free (11:28.95) and 200 butterfly (2:21.46). Against Babson, was second in the 400 medley relay (4:16.31), 200 free (2:05.90) and 100 butterfly (1:04.79).

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

MEN:

Arthur Engelhard, Bentley (So., Apalachin, NY) - Won five events, including three relays, and recorded one second during a 2-0 week. In a win over Babson, was first in the 100 back (56.18), 400 medley relay (3:47.01) and 400 free relay (3:25.68). Against Keene State, finished first in the 200 back (2:01.72) and 200 medley relay (3:43.69), and was second in the 50 free (23.20).

Ned Krawiecki, Bentley (So., Bristol, CT) - Won five events and finished second in another. Was a triple-winner in a 109.5-93.5 win over Babson, capturing the 400 medley relay (3:47.01), 100 butterfly (56.28) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.86). In a 132-99 win over Keene State, finished first in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.45) and 400 medley relay (3:43.69), and second in the 200 individual medley (2:08.77).

Will Chidsey, Le Moyne (Sr., Liverpool, NY) - Won two individual events in Le Moyne's 134.5-102.5 loss at RIT. Won the 50 free in 20.98 and the 100 back in 53.71.

Chris Cochran, Saint Michael's (Sr., Forestdale, MA) - Against Bryant, won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.86, and took the 500-yard freestyle in 5:21.26, winning the race by over 16 seconds.

Michael Kaas, Saint Michael's (So., West Haven, CT) - Won both the 100-yard and 50-yard butterfly events with respective times of 58.91 and 26.13.

Chris Haines, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Vernon, CT) - Won the 200-yard freestyle in a win over West Chester with a time of 1:44.98. Also won the 200 individual medley (2:05.99) and led off the winning 200 medley relay team (1:42.18)in a triangular meet as the Owls topped Queens and St. Rose.

Dan Vitagliano, Southern Connecticut (So., New Haven, CT) - Passed the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division II championships in winning the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:39.59 over West Chester. Was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:42.18) in a triangular meet win over Queens and St. Rose.

WOMEN:

Katrina Kaufman, Bentley (Sr., Belmont, MA) - Captured both diving events in a win over Babson, with scores of 198.95 on the one-meter and 212.90 on the three-meter. Against Keene State, finished first in the one-meter (235.00) and second in the three-meter (226.55).

Alison Lesher, Le Moyne (So., Sherrill, NY) - Won two individual events in a 114-90 dual meet win at RIT. Topped the 200 IM in 2:15.60 and the 100 Back in 1:03.60.

Kristine Robinson, Pace (Sr., Putnam Valley, NY) - Against Vassar, won three events. Won the 1000 yard freestyle event with a time of 11:08.13, the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.44 and the 500 yard free with a time of 5:30.97

Ellie Hedden, Saint Michael's (Sr., Warwick, RI) - Won the 200-yard and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 2:10.08 and 59.19, and also took the 50-yard butterfly in 29.53.

Sharon Bogdanski, Saint Rose (Jr., Middletown, NY) - Finished first in two individual events for the Golden Knights against Queens and was also a member of a second place relay team. Was first in the 200 free in 2:14.33 and touched first in the 500 free in 5:35.87. Was also a member of the 200 free relay that placed second in 1:57.49. Against Adelphi, finished first in the 200 free (2:03.57) and was a member of the 400 free relay team that won in 3:56.27.

Amy Browning, Southern Connecticut (So., Fort Worth, TX) - Browning won the 200-yard butterfly in a home loss to West Chester with a time of 2:11.27, passing the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division II championships. Browning was also part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team, which had a time of 3:41.51 against the Golden Rams. She won the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.98) and anchored the winning 200-medley relay (2:01.36) as the Owls topped Queens College and St. Rose. - Rank: 1

Maria Zenoni, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Santo Domingo, DR) - Won the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard breaststroke with times of 11:04.76 to win the 1,000 against Queens and St. Rose and went 2:30.54 in the 200-yard breaststroke for a win against West Chester.

Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: The Bentley men won every event in a 109.5-93.5 victory at Babson, and the women's team improved to 10-2 with victories over Keene State and Babson LE MOYNE: In a dual meet at RIT, the Le Moyne women improved to 7-3 with a 114-90 win. The men dipped to 5-4 with a 134.5-102.5 setback. Le Moyne closes out its dual meet season with a women's and men's home meet against perennial power Hamilton on Friday SAINT MICHAEL'S: The Purple Knights will complete their duel-meet schedule on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. home meet against Norwich University. The contest against the Cadets will mark the final competition at the Ross Sports Center for eight Saint Michael's seniors: Erin Crowley (Winooski, VT), Katie Gundling (Westborough, MA), Cam Tu Nguyen (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), Nick Mack (Richmond, VT), and captains Chris Cochran (Forestdale, MA), Thomas Wu (Litchfield, CT), Ellie Hedden (Warwick, RI), and Amy Powers (Holliston, MA) SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: Southern's men registered three wins on the week, topping Queens and St. Rose in a triangular meet and West Chester in a dual meet. West Chester has only lost twice to Division II opponents in 10 seasons, with both coming at the hands of the Owls. Sophomore Dan Vitagliano reached the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division II championships in the 500-yard freestyle, winning that event against West Chester with a time of 4:39.59. The Southern women tipped Queens and St. Rose while dropping a meet to West Chester. Sophomore Amy Browning reached the provisional qualifying standard in the 200 butterfly against West Chester, winning with a time of 2:11.27.
