Northeast-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week

Shane Pelton, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Malvern, PA) - At the Division II invitational
at Bentley, helped lead Southern Connecticut to the team title by winning three events including the 200-yard IM (2:01.72); the 100-yard freestyle (50.08) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.32).

Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week

Maria Zenoni, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Santo Domingo, DR) - Won the 500-yard freestyle (2:32.98) and placed second in the 1,000-yard event at the Division II invitational at Bentley, leading Southern Connecticut to the team title.

Northeast-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week

Brandon Birchak, Saint Rose (Jr., Latham, NY) - Swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the Bentley Invitational. Scored 319.35 points to take the 1-meter event, out distancing the next closest competitor by almost 78 points. On the 3-meter board, set a new meet record with 344.70 points, shattering the old mark of 303.60 points set in 2004.

Northeast-10 Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week

Ali Bronson, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Torrington, CT) - At the Division II Invitational
at Bentley, won both diving events, scoring 256.95 points in the one-meter event and 270.65 in the three-meter event, helping Southern Connecticut to a team title.

Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week

Craig Diaz-Albertini, Saint Rose (Fr., Sloatsburg, NY) - Swam the second leg on
winning teams in the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay at the Hartwick Relays. The 200-yard free relay squad came in at 1:30.93, while the 400-yard freestyle relay team clocked a 3:25.14. Finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at the Bentley Invitational in a time of 23.30. Swam the third leg on the 400-yard freestyle relay team that took top honors with a time of 3:24.53.

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshmen of the Week

Erin Rappold, Le Moyne (Fr., Niskayuna, NY) - Won two individual events each and teamed for a relay win in a victory against Utica. Won the 200-yard IM (2:23.59) and 500-yard freestyle (5:30.31) and was part of the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay win.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Tezzy Bergantz, Bentley (Sr., Trumbull, CT) - Was second in both diving events in the Bentley Invitational, with scores of 218.20 on the one-meter board and 191.20 off the three-meter.

Liza Connolly, Bentley (Jr., Washington, CT) - Was involved in three of Bentley's seven second-place finishes during the Bentley Invitational. Placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (26.12 seconds) and the 100-yard freestyle (57.47) after swimming leg in the 400-yard medley relay.

Sam Laden, Bentley (Fr., Cheshire, CT) - Finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.80) and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle (23.44). Also helped Bentley finish second in the 400-yard medley relay (3:44.37).

Kyle Reese, Bentley (Jr., Hamden, CT) - In the Bentley Invitational, finished second in the one-meter diving (241.65) and third on the three-meter board (204.65).

Ricky Chidsey, Le Moyne (So., Liverpool, NY) - Won two events in a 129-55 victory over Utica. Won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.19 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:09.32.

Alison Lesher, Le Moyne (Jr., Sherrill, NY) - Won two individual events each and teamed for a relay win in a 144-79 win over Utica. Topped the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.99) and 100-yard back (1:03.47) and was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team.

Ed Fennessey, Saint Michael's (Jr., Wilton, CT) - Finished fourth in the one-meter dive, and fifth in the three-meter dive, at the Bentley Invitational.

Stephanie Hammer, Saint Michael's (So., Billings, MT) - Finished sixth in the 1,000-yard freestyle, and eighth in the 500-yard freestyle, at the Bentley Invitational.

Sean Molloy, Saint Rose (So., LaGrange, NY) - Took top honors in the 200-yard backstroke at the Bentley Invitational, finishing in 2:02.79. Also placed second in the 200-yard freestyle after touching in 1:51.22.

Rosalie Palmer, Saint Rose (Fr., Dallas, TX) - Contributed a fifth place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, touching in 2:18.34 at the Bentley Invitational. Also placed sixth in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:21.92. Swam the second leg in the 300-yard backstroke relay event at the Hartwick Relays as the team placed second with a 3:19.51 clocking.

Denny Shupe, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Berwyn, PA) - Won the 500-yard freestyle at the Division II Invitational at Bentley with a time of 5:01.00, winning the event by more than 12 seconds. Helped Southern Connecticut to the championship with second-place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.29) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.79).
