Northeast-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week

Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week
Jess Looney, Bryant (So., Goffstown, N.H.) - Was named Swimmer of
the Meet after winning three individual events at the New England
Championships. Helped lead the Bulldogs to a third-place finish
overall. Set a new school and pool record in the 200-yard
backstroke (2:09.98). Set new school record with the win in the
200-yard individual medley (2:13.05) and won the 400-yard IM with a
time of 4:39.90. Helped anchor the 400 yard freestyle relay team to
a third-place finish in a time of 3:42.86.
Northeast-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week

Northeast-10 Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Alex Bergantz, Bentley (So., Trumbull, Conn.) - Finished second in
both diving events during the New England Intercollegiate Swimming
and Diving Association Championships, with scores of 362.15 on the
one-meter board and 346.90 on the three-meter.
Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week
Anne Kaduboski, Bentley (Fr., Dedham, Mass.) - Won four golds and
three silvers, and broke school records eight times during the New
England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association
championships. Was first in the 200 butterfly (2:07.45) and 100 fly
(59.14), placed second in the 50 fly (26.76), helped Bentley win
both the 400 medley (3:59.23) and 800 free (7:56.04) relays, and
participated on two silver medal-winning relays (200 free, 1:40.36,
and 400 free, 3:40.22). All times were school records, and 200 fly
was a B-cut.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Arden Brust, Bentley (Sr., Newark, N.Y.) - During the New England
Championships, collected two golds (400 medley relay, 800 free
relay), four silvers (200 back, 1000 free, 400 free relay, 200 free
relay), and one bronze (200 free). Set a school record in the 1000
free (10:46.57) and helped the Falcons to school records in the
four relays as well.
Kaitlin Chepeleff, Bentley (Jr., Vernon, Conn.) - Swept the
breaststroke events at the New England Championships, with times of
31.74 in the 50, 1:08.18 in the 100 and 2:28.17 in the 200. Also
helped the Falcons capture the 200 free relay (1:40.36) and
participated in three silver medal-winning relays. Set school
records in the 50 and 100 breast, and helped to do the same in
three relays.
Liza Connolly, Bentley (Sr., Washington, Conn.) - During the New
England Intercollegiate Swimming and Divng Association
championships, finished first in both the 100 free (53.62) and 200
free (155:83), won silver in the 50 free (24.77), participated on
two winning relays (200 free, 1:55.73, and 800 free, 7:56.04) and
was also on two second-place relays (400 free, 3:40.22, and 200
free, 1:40.36). Posted B cut times in all three freestyle events,
and set a school record in all seven events (three individual, four
relay).
Jill Squillante, Bryant (Fr., Sayville, N.Y.) - Took three top-5
finishes at the New England Championships, including two
second-place times. Took fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in a time
of 26.12 before taking second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.25)
and in the 50-yard backstroke (28.59).
Kerry Slade, Saint Michael's (Sr., Roslindale, Mass.) - Finished
ninth in the 100-yard Individual Medley with a time of 1:07.37 and
10th in the 50-yard Backstroke in 31.37 at the New England
Championships.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: The six-year reign as champion for the Bentley
women at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving
Association championships came to an end, but it was still quite a
weekend for the Falcons. Bentley swimmers won nine of 25 events,
set school records a total of 17 times in 13 different events and
posted five B-cut times. Senior Liza Connolly and freshman Anne
Kaduboski each broke school records in all seven events in which
they competed (three individual, four relays).
BRYANT: The Bryant women's swim team placed third
out of 21 teams competing at the New England Championships over the
weekend. Sophomore Jessica Looney was named the Swimmer of the Meet
after recording three first place finishes including a pool record
time of 2:09.98 in the 200 backstroke Saturday.
