Northeast-10 Men’ s Swimming Athlete of the
Week
Jerry Dumary, Le Moyne (So., Ballston Spa, N.Y.) - Won three
individual events and teamed on a relay victory in the 153-131 loss
at Hamilton. Recorded individual first-place finishes in the
50-yard breaststroke in 28.86 seconds, the 100-yard breaststroke in
1:01.39 and the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:01.62. Also swam the
second leg for the winning 200-yard medley relay team that finished
in 1:38.33.
Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete and Freshman of
the Week
Katie O'Donnell, Le Moyne (Fr., Delmar, N.Y.) - Won three
individual events and was part of a relay victory in the 154-146
loss at Hamilton. Registered individual victories in the 100-yard
butterfly in 1:00.18, the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.40 and the
200-yard IM in 2:13.04. Also swam the lead leg for the first-place
200-yard medley relay team that finished in 1:55.08 to open the
meet.
Northeast-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the
Week
Zach Hisert, Le Moyne (Sr., Amsterdam, N.Y.) - Won the one-meter
diving event with a score of 257.80 in the 153-131 loss at
Hamilton. Placed second in the three-meter diving event with a
score of 182.40.
Northeast-10 Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Tierney Carey, Saint Michael's (Sr., Newtown, Conn.) - Totaled
552.45 points in three diving events at the seven-school MIT
Invitational. Finished sixth in the final one-meter dive (223.70
points), eighth in the first one-meter dive (152.35 points), and
13th in the final three-meter dive (176.40 points).
Northeast-10 Men’ s Freshman of the Week
Drew Acquaviva, Le Moyne (Fr., Delmar, N.Y.) - Won a pair of
individual events and teamed on a relay victory in the 153-131 loss
at Hamilton. Registered individual victories in the 50-yard
backstroke in 25.69 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke in 54.53
seconds. Teamed on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay squad that
finished in 1:28.67.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Erica Cusumano, Assumption (Fr., Warwick, R.I.) - In a meet against
New England College finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke
(1:20.16); finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:51.02);
finished second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:33.30)
finished fourth in the 200 yard medley relay; finished sixth in the
200-yard freestyle relay (2:13.58)
James Cote, Bentley (Sr., West Islip, N.Y.) - Helped Bentley swim
past Norwich by winning the 200 yard butterfly (2:18.01) and the
100 individual medley (59.91). Was also fourth in the 200
breaststroke (2:35.02) and a member of the Falcons’ 200 free
relay team that was 5th of 6 (1:40.83).
Nick Markert, Bentley (Sr., Lincoln Park, N.J.) - During a dual
meet at Norwich, finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke
(1:04.67) and the 200 breast (2:26.80), anchored Bentley’s
winning 200 medley relay team (1:41.68) and was 5th of 11 in the
100 individual medley (1:01.08).
Austin Bell, Saint Michael's (Fr., Sun Valley, Calif.) - Broke a
17-year old program record in finishing second in the 1,650-yard
freestyle at the seven-school MIT Invitational. Finished in
17:53.53, holding off the third-place swimmer and breaking the
program record by just over a second.
Eileen Mullowney, Saint Michael's (Fr., Burlington, Vt.) - Recorded
three top-five finishes - and broke one of her own program records
- at the seven-school MIT Invitational. Finished second in the
200-yard freestyle (1:56.97), third in the 50-yard freestyle
(25.54), and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (program-record
5:14.32).
Weekly Notes:
SAINT MICHAEL’S: Two freestyle program records were
set by freshmen at the MIT Invitational on Friday and Saturday. On
the men's side, Austin Bell broke a 17-year old record in the men's
1,650-yard freestyle, finishing second in a time of 17:53.53 (old
record: 17:54.70 by Jeremy Kane in 1992). For the women, Eileen
Mullowney broke her own program record in the 500-yard freestyle,
shaving nearly three seconds off her personal best (5:14.32).
