Northeast-10 Mens Swimming Athlete of the Week

Will Chidsey, Le Moyne (Sr., Liverpool, NY) - Won two individual events and teamed for a relay win in Le Moyne's 168-78 win at Utica. He won the 50 Breast in 28.66 and the 500 Free in 5:00.50. Topped the 500 Free in nearly 24 seconds and won the 50 free by nearly five seconds.

Northeast-10 Womens Swimming Athlete of the Week

Alison Lesher, Le Moyne (So., Sherrill, NY) - Won two events in a 170-99 dual meet win over Utica. Topped the 100 Butterfly in 1:03.15 and the 100 Free in 56.33.

Northeast-10 Mens Diving Athlete of the Week

James Spendley, Le Moyne (Sr., Somersworth, NH) - Won the diving event in Le Moyne's 168-78 win at Utica. Scored a 105.50. in the 1M diving.

Northeast-10 Womens Diving Athlete of the Week

Ali Bronson, Southern Connecticut (So., Torrington, CT) - In a triangular meet at Central Connecticut, Bronson won the one-meter diving (218.05) and the three-meter diving (218.55). The Owls lost to Central but defeated Springfield.

Northeast-10 Mens Freshman of the Week

Ricky Chidsey, Le Moyne (Fr., Liverpool, NY) - Won two individual events and teamed for a relay win in Le Moyne's 168-78 win at Utica. Topped the 100 Butterfly in 54.83 and the 100 Breast in 1:09.03 and teamed for a 200 Medley Relay win with a time of 1:45.55.

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

MEN:

Matt Kavanagh, Saint Rose (Sr. Newburgh, NY) - Led Saint Rose at the Geneseo Sprint Invitational with a pair of first place finishes. Kavanagh won the 100-yard freestyle in 47.65 and touched first in the 200 free with a 1:46.66 clocking.

Rob Seabury, Le Moyne (Sr. Fulton, NY) - Won two individual events in Le Moyne's 168-78 win at Utica. Won the 50 Back in 27.35 and the 100 Back in 59.83.

Denny Shupe, Southern Connecticut (So., Berwyn, PA) - In a 125-112 win over Springfield College, Shupe won two events. The sophomore was first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.40) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:14.30).

Dan Vitagliano, Southern Connecticut (So. New Haven, CT) - In a win over Springfield College, Vutagliano won the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.11) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.92).

WOMEN:

Melissa Desiderio, Le Moyne (Sr., Derby, NY) - Won two events in a 170-99 win over Utica. Topped the 1,000 Free in 11:53.72 and the 50 Breast in 36.39.

Genevieve Suits, Le Moyne (So., Jamesville, NY) - Won two events in a 170-99 win over Utica. Topped the 50 Back in 31.07 and won the 100 Back in 1:06.16.

Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: Captains for the 2005-06 Bentley swim teams, who open the season Saturday at Le Moyne, will be James Bunn (Bronxville, N.Y.), Dan Goldstein (Shelton, Conn.), Lindsay Weiner (Locust, N.J.), Laura Pelczarski (Chicopee, Mass.) and Brianne Tulley (Chelmsford, Mass.). LE MOYNE: The Dolphins swept Utica in dual meet Saturday to move their men's and women's marks to 1-1 on the season. On the men's side, Le Moyne won 10 of the first 11 events en route to a 168-78 win. Will Chidsey (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool), Ricky Chidsey (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and Rob Seabury (Fulton, N.Y./Fulton) won two events each. The women also won 10 of the first 11 events to capture a 170-99 win. Melissa Desiderio (Derby, N.Y./Lakeshore Central), Genevieve Suits (Jamesville, N.Y./CBA) and Alison Lesher (Sherrill, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) won two events each.
